ROSTERS ANNOUNCED FOR 2021 PRO BOWL PRESENTED BY VERIZON

PRO BOWL WEEK CULMINATES WITH CELEBRATION OF PLAYERS DURING PRO BOWL-THEMED SHOWS ON ESPN, ABC AND NFL NETWORK

The NFL today announced the AFC and NFC All-Stars for the 2021 Pro Bowl presented by Verizon, an all-new virtual Pro Bowl experience within Madden NFL 21. On January 31, the players will be celebrated during two Pro Bowl-themed shows airing on an ESPN/ABC simulcast from 3:00-5:00 PM ET, and on NFL Network from 5:00-6:00 PM ET.

Roster selections are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group’s vote counts one-third toward determining the 88 All-Star players. The NFL is the only sports league that combines voting by fans, coaches and players to determine its All-Stars. It was also the first professional sports league to offer online All-Star voting in 1995.

Twenty-seven teams had at least one player selected to the 2021 Pro Bowl roster and 25 clubs had multiple players chosen as All-Stars. Four teams – the BALTIMORE RAVENSGREEN BAY PACKERSKANSAS CITY CHIEFS and SEATTLE SEAHAWKS – each placed a league-best seven players on the Pro Bowl roster.

Four of the quarterbacks selected to the Pro Bowl are under the age of 26 – Buffalo’s JOSH ALLEN (24), Kansas City’s PATRICK MAHOMES (25), Arizona’s KYLER MURRAY (23) and Houston’s DESHAUN WATSON (25) – the first time since the 2014 Pro Bowl that four quarterbacks on the roster were under the age of 26. Green Bay’s AARON RODGERS was selected to his ninth Pro Bowl while Seattle’s RUSSELL WILSON earned Pro Bowl honors for the eighth time in nine career seasons.

Twenty-six of the players selected to the Pro Bowl today are first-time All-Stars, including two rookies – wide receiver JUSTIN JEFFERSON of the Minnesota Vikings and defensive end CHASE YOUNG of the Washington Football Team.

As the NFL continues its collaboration with EA around the 2021 Pro Bowl, EA has launched the Video Game Numbers Challenge in Madden NFL 21 where fans have the chance to help get their favorite players onto the virtual Pro Bowl roster.

Football fans can add two of their favorite NFL players from 32 eligible stars to the Virtual 2021 NFL Pro Bowl through the Video Game Numbers Challenge in Madden NFL 21. Between December 22, 2020 and January 3, 2021, each touchdown scored by the 32 eligible players in Madden NFL 21 online Head-to-Head matchups, both ranked and unranked, will be counted and tallied with the top scoring AFC player and NFC player added to this year’s Virtual Pro Bowl rosters on January 4. The full list of 32 eligible players for the Video Game Numbers Challenge and other details can be found on http://ea.com/videogamenumbers.

The NFL is the only sports league that combines voting by fans, coaches and players to determine its All-Star teams. It was also the first professional sports league to offer online All-Star voting in 1995.

What To Look For - Week 15

PLAYOFF PUSHEntering Week 15, two teams have clinched division titles – the GREEN BAY PACKERS (NFC North) and KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (AFC West) – and two teams have clinched playoff berths – the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS and PITTSBURGH STEELERS

New Orleans (NFC South), Pittsburgh (AFC North) and the BUFFALO BILLS (AFC East) can clinch their respective division titles this week. Buffalo is aiming for its first division title since 1995, while the Steelers are looking to win the AFC North after missing the postseason in 2019. In each of the past 42 seasons (1977-2019, excluding 1982, when divisional play did not occur), at least one team has won its division the season after missing the playoffs.

Week 15 NFL Preview

NFL GENERATES UNBRIDLED EXCITEMENT

AS PLAYOFFS APPROACH

The BALTIMORE RAVENS and CLEVELAND BROWNS stamped an exclamation point on a thrilling week of NFL action by carving their names next to a record that had stood undisturbed for 98 years.

Until Monday night, when Baltimore and Cleveland combined for nine rushing touchdowns, only a pair of 1922 games had ever included as many touchdowns on the ground.

Then, the Ravens and Browns decided the game in the air.

LAMAR JACKSON threw a 44-yard, fourth-down touchdown pass to MARQUISE BROWN to give Baltimore a 42-35 lead with 1:51 remaining. Then, after Cleveland’s KAREEM HUNT scored on a 22-yard pass from BAKER MAYFIELD with 1:04 left, the Ravens’ JUSTIN TUCKER converted a 55-yard, game-winning field goal in the final seconds.

Was it the game of the year?

In a season stocked with game-of-the-year candidates, it may have won the Oscar. But there are 48 games remaining on the regular-season schedule, 48 more scripts left to unfold, 48 more opportunities for lead actors and supporting casts to contribute historic performances.

The Final 48 starts in 48 hours.

HISTORY FUELS PLAYOFF HOPES: In each of the past 42 seasons (1977-2019, excluding 1982, when divisional play did not occur), at least one team has won its division the season after missing the playoffs. This week, with either a Cleveland loss on Sunday or a win on Monday Night Football at Cincinnati (8:15 PM ET, ESPN), the PITTSBURGH STEELERS (11-2) can extend that streak.

  • Since 1990, at least four teams every season have qualified for the playoffs after failing to make the postseason the year before.
  • At least two teams have won their divisions the season after missing the playoffs in 16 of the past 17 years.
  • And in 15 of the past 17 seasons, at least one team finished in first place in its division the season after finishing in last or tied for last place. In fact, of the 48 teams in league history to go from “worst-to-first,” 25 of them have done so in the past 17 years (2003-19), including an NFL-record three such teams in 2005 and 2006. Two teams during that span, the 2009 New Orleans Saints and the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles, won the Super Bowl after finishing in last place in their divisions the season before.

SATURDAYS ARE SPECIAL IN DECEMBER: The NFL kicks off its annual schedule of Saturday games this week when the BUFFALO BILLS (10-3) travel to play the DENVER BRONCOS (5-8) at Empower Field at Mile High (4:30 PM ET, NFLN). In Game 2 of the doubleheader, the CAROLINA PANTHERS (4-9) are at the GREEN BAY PACKERS (10-3), who clinched the NFC North title last week, on Saturday night (8:15 PM ET, NFLN).

  • Bills quarterback JOSH ALLEN ranks sixth in the NFL with a career-high 3,641 passing yards and could become just the second player in Buffalo history to reach 4,000 in a single season, joining DREW BLEDSOE (4,359 passing yards in 2002).
  • Denver rookie wide receiver KJ HAMLER caught two touchdowns in the team’s road win last week. Hamler is one of nine NFL rookies with at least three receiving touchdowns this season.
  • Green Bay wide receiver DAVANTE ADAMS had seven receptions for 115 yards and one touchdown in the Packers’ Week 14 win. He has recorded a touchdown reception in eight consecutive games, tied for the third-longest streak within a single season in the Super Bowl era. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer JERRY RICE (12 games in 1987) and A.J. GREEN (nine games in 2012) have longer streaks.

BATTLE OF PLAYOFF-BOUND TEAMS ON SUNDAY DOCKET: The KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (12-1), who lead the league with 429.2 total yards per game and rank second with 31.0 points per game, square off against the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (10-3) on Sunday (4:25 PM ET, CBS). The Saints are allowing the NFL’s second-fewest yards per game (298.4) and the league’s fourth-fewest points per contest (20.4).

  • Kansas City tight end TRAVIS KELCE, who leads the NFL with 1,250 receiving yards, is bidding to become the first tight end in league history to lead the league in that category. Previously, the highest an NFL tight end has ranked in receiving yards is second (PETE RETZLAFF with 1,190 in 1965, and Pro Football Hall of Famer KELLEN WINSLOW SR. with 1,290 in 1980).
  • Last week, Kelce became the first tight end in NFL history to record at least 90 receptions in three consecutive seasons. Kelce, who leads NFL tight ends this season (90), had 103 catches in 2018 and 97 in 2019.
  • Kelce now has 25 career games with at least 100 receiving yards, surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer KELLEN WINSLOW SR. (24 games) for the third-most by a tight end in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer TONY GONZALEZ (31 games) and ROB GRONKOWSKI (29) have more. Kelce, who had 1,336 receiving yards in 2018 and 1,229 receiving yards in 2019, is the first tight end with at least 1,200 receiving yards in three seasons in NFL history. 0
  • Chiefs quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES leads the NFL with 4,208 passing yards this season. Mahomes, who had 4,031 passing yards in 2019 and 5,097 passing yards in 2018, is the third player with at least 4,000 passing yards in three of his first four seasons in NFL history, joining PEYTON MANNING and Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO.
  • Mahomes has 26 career games with at least 300 passing yards, tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer KURT WARNER (26 games) for the most by a player in his first four seasons in NFL history. Mahomes’ 14 career games with at least 350 passing yards are the most by a player in his first four seasons in NFL history.
  • Entering Week 15, Mahomes has six consecutive games with at least 315 passing yards, tied with DREW BREES (six consecutive games from 2012-13) and RICH GANNON (six consecutive games in 2002) for the most consecutive games with at least 315 passing yards in NFL history.
  • Chiefs wide receiver TYREEK HILL, currently in his fifth season, has 14 career games with at least two touchdowns, tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer LANCE ALWORTH (14) for the second-most such games by a wide receiver in his first five seasons in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer JERRY RICE (18 games) has more.
  • New Orleans running back ALVIN KAMARA ranks third in the NFL with 1,422 scrimmage yards and tied for third with 14 scrimmage touchdowns. He also leads all NFL running backs with 77 receptions and needs three catches against the Chiefs to become the third running back in NFL history with four seasons of at least 80 receptions.
  • Since entering the league in 2016, Saints wide receiver MICHAEL THOMAS leads all players with 510 receptions, the most by a player in his first five seasons in NFL history.
  • On defense, Saints defensive end CAMERON JORDAN (6.5 sacks in 2020) is the NFL’s only player with at least six sacks in each of the past nine seasons (2012-20). DEMARIO DAVIS is one of two players (LAVONTE DAVID) with at least 400 tackles (447) and 40-or-more tackles for loss (45) since 2017. Defensive end TREY HENDRICKSON ranks tied for third in the NFL with a career-high 10.5 sacks this season.

10,000 AND COUNTING: In Seattle last week, RUSSELL WILSON’s 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end WILL DISSLY pushed the NFL over the 10,000-point threshold this season. The league enters Week 15 with 10,262 points through 208 games, the most points scored through 14 weeks in NFL history. The single-season league record is 11,985 points in 2013.

  • The SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (9-4), who rank third in the NFL with 30.2 points per game, travel to meet the WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM (6-7) on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX).
  • Dating back to the start of the 2018 season, the Seahawks have won 11 of their past 12 games in the Eastern Time Zone, including postseason.
  • Washington is 4-0 since Week 11 – the longest active winning streak in the NFC – and has excelled on defense over that span, ranking first in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game (64.8), second in points allowed per game (14.3), tied for third in takeaways (eight), tied for fifth in sacks (12) and seventh in total yards per game (297.3) during the winning streak.
  • In their Week 14 win, two Washington rookies scored defensive touchdowns: Safety KAMREN CURL (76-yard interception return) and defensive end CHASE YOUNG (47-yard fumble return). It marked the fifth time since 1970 that a team has had two rookies record a defensive touchdown in the same game and the first since the BALTIMORE RAVENS in Week 8, 2006.
  • Seattle quarterback RUSSELL WILSON, who passed for four touchdowns with one interception for a 122.6 rating last week, has 15 career games with at least four touchdown passes, tied with PEYTON MANNING (15) for the second-most by a quarterback in his first nine seasons in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO (16 games) has more.
  • Last week, Wilson registered his 35th career game with at least three touchdown passes and a passer rating of 100-or-higher, surpassing Manning (34 games) for the most such games by a quarterback in his first nine seasons in NFL history.
  • Also in Week 14, Seahawks safety JAMAL ADAMS, who has a career-high 8.5 sacks this season, surpassed ADRIAN WILSON (eight sacks in 2005) for the most sacks by a defensive back in a single season since 1982, when the individual sack became an official statistic.

ROYAL RESUMÉ: Running back DERRICK HENRY can check off another accomplishment when the TENNESSEE TITANS (9-4) host the DETROIT LIONS (5-8) on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS). Henry, who leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,532) and is tied for the lead in rushing touchdowns (14), needs one rushing touchdown to become the fourth player in NFL history with at least 1,500 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in consecutive seasons.

  • Last week, Henry rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns to become the first player in NFL history with four career games with at least 200 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. What’s more, Henry has seven career games with at least 170 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer ERIC DICKERSON (seven games) for the third-most such games in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers LADAINIAN TOMLINSON (11 games) and JIM BROWN (nine) have more.
  • Henry, who rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 and rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns in Week 12, is the fifth player with three games of 175-or-more rushing yards and two-or-more rushing touchdowns within a single season in NFL history, joining JAMAL LEWIS (2003), JOE MORRIS (1986), Pro Football Hall of Famer LADAINIAN TOMLINSON (2006) and RICKY WILLIAMS (2002).

BOOMER SOONER: Two former Oklahoma quarterbacks will meet at State Farm Stadium when rookie JALEN HURTS and the PHILADELHIA EAGLES (4-8-1) face off against KYLER MURRAY and the ARIZONA CARDINALS (7-6) on Sunday (4:05 PM ET, FOX). Making his first career start last week, Hurts passed for 167 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions and added 106 rush yards in the Eagles’ 24-21 win over New Orleans. He joined LAMAR JACKSON (119 rushing yards in Week 11, 2018) as the only quarterbacks with at least 100 rushing yards in their first career start in NFL history.

  • Last week, Arizona linebacker HAASON REDDICK had a career-high five sacks with three forced fumbles in the Cardinals’ win. Reddick is the first player with at least five sacks and three forced fumbles in a single game since VONNIE HOLLIDAY (five sacks and three forced fumbles) in Week 16 of the 2002 season.

EIGHT FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR 2020 ART ROONEY SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

WINNER TO BE REVEALED AS PART OF NFL HONORS

The eight finalists for the 2020 ART ROONEY SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD have been named, the NFL announced today. The award is presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.

The finalists, featuring four players from each conference, are defensive end CALAIS CAMPBELL (Baltimore), defensive tackle CAMERON HEYWARD (Pittsburgh), defensive end JUSTIN HOUSTON (Indianapolis) and wide receiver MATTHEW SLATER (New England) in the AFC, and quarterback TEDDY BRIDGEWATER (Carolina), linebacker LAVONTE DAVID (Tampa Bay), center JASON KELCE (Philadelphia) and fullback KYLE JUSZCZYK (San Francisco) in the NFC.

A panel of former players from the NFL Legends Community selected the eight finalists from the 32 NFL club nominees. The panel is comprised of
WARRICK DUNNCURTIS MARTINKARL MECKLENBURG and LEONARD WHEELER. The eight finalists will be listed on the Pro Bowl ballot under the NFL Sportsmanship Award category.

“You try to think about the man who is representing the organization, their teammates and also what they are doing on the football field – the impact they are having,” said DUNN. “You want guys who display leadership, who go above and beyond, who think about their teammates before they think about themselves. It is always hard to narrow down the list of individuals for this award.”

The award was created in 2014 in honor of the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer ART ROONEY, SR.

Thursday Night Capsule - Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders

THURSDAY NIGHT PREVIEW:
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (4-9) AT LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (7-6)

Week 15 of the 2020 NFL season gets underway on Thursday, December 17 (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon), as the Los Angeles Chargers make their first visit to Allegiant Stadium to face the Las Vegas Raiders in a late-season AFC West matchup. This will mark the 122nd regular-season meeting in the rivalry, with the Raiders holding a 65-54-2 advantage and winning the past three meetings. In Week 9 of this season, Las Vegas erased a halftime deficit to defeat the Chargers, 31-26. The Raiders combined for 160 rushing yards and quarterback DEREK CARR passed for two touchdowns with zero interceptions in the victory.

Carr enters Week 15 having recorded at least 315 passing yards, two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown in each of his past two games. He aims for his fifth-consecutive game against the Chargers without an interception. In his past three starts on Thursday Night Football, Carr has four touchdown passes with zero interceptions for a 100.1 rating. Last week, running back JOSH JACOBS recorded 74 scrimmage yards (49 rushing, 25 receiving). In Week 9, Jacobs rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers. He aims for his third in a row against Los Angeles and fifth in a row against the AFC West with a rushing touchdown. The second-year back has recorded at least 100 scrimmage yards in three of four career games in primetime. Tight end DARREN WALLER had seven catches for 75 yards last week and in Week 13, became the fourth tight end in NFL history to record at least 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a single game. Waller had a touchdown reception in the teams’ Week 9 meeting and his seven receiving touchdowns this season are a career high. He ranks second among tight ends in 2020 with 84 catches and 817 receiving yards. Defensive end MAXX CROSBY had a sack in Week 9 and has recorded a sack in four of his five past games against the division.

Last week, Los Angeles kicker MICHAEL BADGLEY connected on a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give the Chargers a 20-17 victory over Atlanta after erasing a halftime deficit. Rookie quarterback JUSTIN HERBERT completed 36 of 44 passes (career-high 81.8 completion percentage) for 243 yards and two touchdowns with one interception for a 95.4 rating in the victory. He became the fourth rookie in NFL history with at least 25 touchdown passes. With three touchdown passes on Thursday night, Herbert will surpass BAKER MAYFIELD (27 touchdown passes in 2018) for the most-ever by a rookie. In Week 9 against Las Vegas, he passed for 326 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions for a 105.9 rating. Running back AUSTIN EKELER recorded 146 scrimmage yards (79 rushing, 67 receiving) last week, his fourth game with at least 125 scrimmage yards this season, joining DERRICK HENRY as the only AFC running backs with at least four such games in 2020. Wide receiver KEENAN ALLEN had a touchdown catch in Week 14 and has recorded a touchdown reception in six of his past seven games. He aims for his 10th in a row against the Raiders with at least five catches. Allen ranks second in the NFL with 99 catches and has 623 receptions in 99 career games, the most by a player in his first 100 games in league history. Defensive end JOEY BOSA has recorded a sack in five of six career games against the Raiders.

NFL ANNOUNCES 32 NOMINEES FOR WALTER PAYTON NFL MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD PRESENTED BY NATIONWIDE
Winner to be Announced at NFL Honors the Week Before Super Bowl LV

The NFL announced today the 32 nominees for the WALTER PAYTON NFL MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD PRESENTED BY NATIONWIDE. Representing the best of the NFL's commitment to philanthropy and community impact, each player was selected as his team's Man of the Year and is now eligible to win the national award. Considered the league's most prestigious honor, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide recognizes an NFL player for outstanding community service activities off the field, as well as excellence on the field. First established in 1970, the national award was renamed in 1999 after the late Hall of Fame Chicago Bears running back WALTER PAYTON.

"This year has presented significant challenges for us all, from the ongoing global pandemic to the continued social injustices witnessed this year," said NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL. "The 32 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominees remind us that even in the face of adversity, players continue to raise awareness and use their voice and platform to positively impact their communities. The nominees will leave lasting legacies across the country in a time when we need leadership and strength the most."

For the third year in a row, all 32 team winners will be highlighted as nominees and recognized for their important work during the week leading up to Super Bowl LV. The 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year will be announced during NFL Honors, a primetime awards special to air nationally the week of Super Bowl LV on CBS.

All 32 nominees will receive a $40,000 donation in their name to their charity of choice. The winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award will receive a $250,000 donation to the charity of their choice. All donations are courtesy of the NFL Foundation and Nationwide.

"Nationwide is proud to recognize an impressive class of Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominees," said Nationwide's Chief Marketing Officer RAMON JONES. "We have long known that NFL players care about the communities where they live and play, but these 32 men have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to advocate for personal causes and inspire action to support them. Nationwide is honored to play a part in sharing their stories and supporting the tremendous work of these community champions."

Fans are encouraged to participate in Nationwide's 6th annual Charity Challenge, a social media campaign designed to support and promote team nominees. Fans can vote on Twitter by using #WPMOYChallenge followed by their favorite nominee's last name. The player whose unique hashtag is used the most between Dec. 10 and Jan. 17 will receive a $25,000 contribution to their charity of choice, while the second and third place finishers will receive $10,000 and $5,000 donations, all courtesy of Nationwide. Hashtag information and official rules can be found at nfl.com/manoftheyear. New this year, fans can win NFL Shop gift cards and additional money for their favorite nominee's charity. Each Monday during the #WPMOYChallenge, Nationwide will ask fans to respond on Twitter with their favorite nominee and one randomly selected fan each week will win a $100 NFL Shop gift card and $2,500 for their favorite nominee's charity.

Beginning in 2017, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year trophy silhouette came to life in uniform elements to further recognize past award winners and current nominees. The six current players who have won the award—DREW BREES, THOMAS DAVIS, LARRY FITZGERALD, JASON WITTEN, J.J. WATT and CALAIS CAMPBELL —continue to wear a Man of the Year patch on their jerseys to recognize their outstanding contributions to the game and to their communities. All 2020 nominees will wear a Man of the Year helmet decal beginning Week 14 and continuing through the end of the season in recognition of their accomplishments on and off the field.

This past week, 11 of 14 games were within one score in the fourth quarter, nine of 14 games were decided by six-or-fewer points, and three games were won with a second-half comeback of at least 10 points. Just another weekend at the office for the National Football League.

After Week 13 concludes tonight with the DALLAS COWBOYS at the BALTIMORE RAVENS (8:05 PM ET, FOX/NFLN/Amazon), every team will have four regular-season games remaining. That’s four weeks to sort out eight division titles and six Wild Card playoff berths. Four weeks for household names to continue their dominance, for records to fall and young players to solidify their place on the NFL map. And four weeks of suspense and excitement at every turn.

Welcome to the final quarter of the NFL season.

BROWNS COMFORTABLE IN TIGHT GAMES: After a statement road win in Week 13, the CLEVELAND BROWNS (9-3) are tied with Buffalo (9-3) for the AFC’s third-best record behind Kansas City (11-1) and Pittsburgh (11-1). This week, the Browns host division rival BALTIMORE on Monday Night Football (8:15 PM ET, ESPN) with an opportunity to take another step toward their first playoff berth since 2002. With a win, the Browns would have their best record through the first 13 games of a season since opening 10-2-1 in 1969.

This season, Cleveland owns an NFL-best 6-0 record in games decided by six-or-fewer points. The KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (5-0), NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (5-0) and INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (3-0) also are undefeated in games decided by six-or-fewer points. Eighty of 191 games (41.9 percent) have been decided by six-or-fewer points, tied for the second-most games at this point of a season in NFL history.

Cleveland wide receiver JARVIS LANDRY recorded eight receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown in the Browns’ Week 13 win. Landry, who is in his seventh season, has 71 career games with at least five receptions and has surpassed STERLING SHARPE (70 games) for the fourth-most such games by a player in his first seven seasons in NFL history. Only DEANDRE HOPKINS (78), ANTONIO BROWN (72) and Pro Football Hall of Famer MARVIN HARRISON (72) had more.

WATCH FOR SECOND-HALF COMEBACKS AT METLIFE: The ARIZONA CARDINALS (6-6), who play the NEW YORK GIANTS (5-7) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX), are no stranger to second-half comebacks. The Cardinals had a 13-point comeback to beat Seattle in Week 7 and a 14-point comeback to beat Buffalo in Week 10.

In addition to Arizona, five other teams – the CHICAGO BEARSMINNESOTA VIKINGSPITTSBURGH STEELERSTENNESSEE TITANS and WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM – have two victories this season in which they overcame second-half deficits of at least 10 points.

Across the league in 2020, 22 games have seen the winning team come back from down at least 10 points in the second half, tied with the 1989 season (22 games) for the most in NFL annals through 13 weeks of a season (with one game remaining tonight).

Meanwhile, the Giants have won four in a row and five of their last seven, including an impressive Week 13 win at Seattle in which New York held the league’s No. 3 scoring team entering the week (31.0 points per game) to just 12 points. The Giants’ two losses in that span were by a combined three points. New York’s defense, guided by coordinator PATRICK GRAHAM, leads the league in third-down defense (25.0 percent, 10 conversions in 40 attempts) over the team’s four-game winning streak.

The Giants are attempting to author one of the most significant in-season turnarounds in league history. They could become the first team in NFL annals to reach the playoffs after opening winless through five games, and the first to reach the playoffs with one-or-fewer wins through eight games.

POSSIBLE AFC PLAYOFF PREVIEW IN BUFFALO: In a battle of division leaders, the BUFFALO BILLS (9-3) host the PITTSBURGH STEELERS (11-1) on Sunday Night Football (8:20 PM ET, NBC).

CHIEFS RETURN TO MIAMI: Having secured a playoff berth last week for a sixth-consecutive season, the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (11-1) return to Hard Rock Stadium, where they won Super Bowl LIV in February, to face the MIAMI DOLPHINS (8-4) on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS).

  • Last week, Kansas City tight end TRAVIS KELCE caught eight passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. He leads all tight ends with 82 catches and 1,114 receiving yards this season, while tying for the lead with eight touchdown receptions. Among all players in 2020, only DK METCALF (1,119) has more receiving yards. Kelce now has at least 80 receptions in five consecutive seasons and has joined Pro Football Hall of Famer TONY GONZALEZ (eight seasons) and JASON WITTEN (six) as the only tight ends with five career seasons of 80-or-more receptions. However, Kelce is the first tight end with at least 80 receptions in five consecutive years. He also is the first tight end in league annals with five career 1,000-yard seasons.
  • Kelce needs just 264 receiving yards over the season’s final four games to surpass GEORGE KITTLE (1,377 receiving yards in 2018) for the most single-season receiving yards by a tight end  in NFL history.
  • Making his fifth career start last week, Miami rookie quarterback TUA TAGOVAILOA passed for a career-high 296 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions for a 97.8 rating in the Dolphins’ 19-7 win over Cincinnati. Tagovailoa became the second quarterback in the Super Bowl era with at least one touchdown pass and zero interceptions in each of his first five career starts, joining JEFF KEMP.
  • Miami tight end MIKE GESICKI had 88 receiving yards on a career-high nine catches and added a touchdown reception last week. He ranks fourth among tight ends this season with 537 receiving yards

STINGY SAINTS DEFENSE GETS TEST AT PHILLY: The NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (10-2), who travel to meet the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (3-8-1) on Sunday (4:25 PM ET, FOX), clinched a playoff berth for the fourth straight season last week. New Orleans has won nine consecutive games, the longest active streak in the league.

  • Since the beginning of Week 9, the Saints’ defense leads the NFL by a significant margin in fewest points allowed per game (8.8), fewest yards allowed per game (233.4) and fewest rushing yards allowed per game (55.8). New Orleans also leads the NFL since Week 9 with nine interceptions and 13 takeaways, while ranking second in that span with 17 sacks.

VIKINGS, BRADY AND BYES: The MINNESOTA VIKINGS (6-6) meet the TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (7-5) on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium (1:00 PM ET, FOX).

  • The Vikings entered their Week 7 bye with a 1-5 record. Since, Minnesota has won five of six games and can see a clear path to a possible playoff berth.
  • This week, Minnesota and the NFC’s leading rusher, running back DALVIN COOK (1,250 yards), face a Tampa Bay defense that ranks No. 1 in the NFL against the run, allowing just 74.2 yards per game.
  • On offense, both Minnesota and Tampa Bay rank among the NFL’s top teams in the red zone. On drives penetrating the 20-yard line this season, Minnesota has scored 30 touchdowns on 40 possessions (75.0 percent, third in NFL). Meanwhile, Tampa Bay has scored 32 touchdowns in 45 red-zone drives (71.1 percent, sixth in NFL).
  • The Buccaneers and quarterback TOM BRADY are coming off their bye. In 18 career regular-season games after a bye, Brady is 14-4 with 4,573 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and nine interceptions, for a 96.4 passer rating.
  • Appearing in his 12th career game last week, Minnesota rookie wide receiver JUSTIN JEFFERSON had nine receptions for 121 yards and one touchdown in the Vikings’ win over Jacksonville. Jefferson, who ranks fourth in the NFL with 1,039 receiving yards this season, is the fifth rookie with at least 1,000 receiving yards in his first 12 career games in the Super Bowl era, joining ODELL BECKHAM JR. (2014), ANQUAN BOLDIN (2003), MARQUES COLSTON (2006) and Pro Football Hall of Famer RANDY MOSS (1998).

Minnesota overcame a 10-point deficit to defeat Jacksonville, 27-24, in overtime in Week 13. This season, there have been 38 games in which a team has overcome a deficit of at least 10 points to win, the most through Week 13 in NFL history.

RODGERS-ADAMS COMBINATION HEADS TO MOTOR CITY: Green Bay quarterback AARON RODGERS and wide receiver DAVANTE ADAMS are arguably the most dangerous offensive combination in the NFL this season. The duo leads the GREEN BAY PACKERS (9-3) across Lake Michigan to meet the DETROIT LIONS (5-7) on Sunday (4:25 PM ET, FOX).

  • Appearing in his 193rd career game last week, Rodgers became the seventh player in NFL history with at least 400 career touchdown passes and surpassed DREW BREES (205 games) as the fastest player to reach the mark.
  • Rodgers has 36 touchdown passes this season and is the first player with five career seasons with at least 35 touchdown passes in league annals. He also accomplished the feat in 2016 (40 touchdown passes), 2014 (38), 2012 (39) and 2011 (45).
  • Adams has four games with at least 10 receptions, 100 receiving yards and a touchdown catch this season, tied with ODELL BECKHAM JR. (four games in 2014) and TORRY HOLT (four in 2003) for the second-most such games in a single season in NFL history. Only MICHAEL THOMAS (six games in 2019) has more.
  • Adams is the third player with at least five receptions and a touchdown catch in seven consecutive games within a single season in NFL history, joining ANTONIO BROWN (eight games in 2018) and Pro Football Hall of Famer TERRELL OWENS (seven games in 2007).
  • Detroit quarterback MATTHEW STAFFORD passed for 402 yards and three touchdowns with one interception for a 109.4 rating while running back ADRIAN PETERSON rushed for two touchdowns in the Lions’ Week 13 victory.
  • Stafford is the seventh quarterback with at least 10 career games with 400-or-more passing yards in NFL history, joining DREW BREES (16 games), PEYTON MANNING (14), Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO (13), BEN ROETHLISBERGER (12), PHILIP RIVERS (11) and TOM BRADY (10).
  • Last week, Peterson recorded his 28th career game with at least two rushing touchdowns and surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer JIM BROWN (27 games) for the third-most such games in league annals. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers LADAINIAN TOMLINSON (38 games) and EMMITT SMITH (36) have more. Peterson, who has six rushing touchdowns this season, has 11 career seasons with at least five rushing touchdowns, tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer WALTER PAYTON (11 seasons) for the third-most such seasons in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famers MARCUS ALLEN (13 seasons) and EMMITT SMITH (12) have more.

SMITH CONTINUES REMARKABLE COMEBACK SEASON: When WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM quarterback ALEX SMITH takes his club on the road against the SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS on Sunday (4:25 PM ET, FOX) at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, he will play the team that selected him No. 1 overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.

  • Smith this season is 3-1 as a starter, having led Washington to three straight wins, including a 23-17 triumph over previously undefeated Pittsburgh on the road in Week 13.
  • As a starting quarterback, Smith has compiled eight winning seasons since 2011, when he went 13-3 in San Francisco. That stretch includes each of his five seasons (2013-17) as the starter in Kansas City.

MR. ROBINSON’S NEIGHBORHOOD: When the JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (1-11) host the TENNESSEE TITANS (8-4) on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS), Jaguars rookie running back JAMES ROBINSON has an opportunity to make history.

  • Last week, Robinson totaled 108 scrimmage yards (78 rushing, 30 receiving) and one rushing touchdown. Robinson now has seven games with at least 100 scrimmage yards this season, tied with CLARK GAINES (seven games in 1976) for the most such games by an undrafted rookie in the common-draft era. Robinson has 1,278 scrimmage yards this season, tied with PHILLIP LINDSAY (1,278 scrimmage yards in 2018) for the second-most scrimmage yards by an undrafted rookie in the common-draft era. Only DOMINIC RHODES (1,328) had more.
  • Titans running back DERRICK HENRY leads the NFL with 1,317 rushing yards and has recorded at least 100 rushing yards in eight consecutive road games, tied with CHRIS JOHNSON (eight games from 2009-10) for the second-longest such streak in NFL history. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer BARRY SANDERS (10 games from 1996-97) has a longer streak.

KEY CONFERENCE GAME IN VEGAS: Playoff implications will be on the line when the INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (8-4) head west to meet the LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (7-5) on Sunday (4:05 PM ET, CBS).

  • Last week, Las Vegas tight end DARREN WALLER had 13 receptions for a career-high 200 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders’ 31-28 win. Waller became the fourth tight end in history to record at least 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a single game, joining RICH CASTER (Sept. 24, 1972) as well as Pro Football Hall of Famers SHANNON SHARPE (Oct. 20, 2002) and JACKIE SMITH (Oct. 13, 1963).
  • Indianapolis quarterback PHILIP RIVERS passed for 285 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 119.3 rating in the Colts’ Week 13 win at Houston. Rivers, who has 3,263 passing yards this season, is the fifth quarterback in NFL history to record at least 15 seasons with 3,000 passing yards, joining TOM BRADY (18 seasons), Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE (18), DREW BREES (16) and PEYTON MANNING (16).
