Liga Americana

Este:

• Rays (21-12)-con una semana de 3-3. Tyler Glasnow con victoria y ahora tiene marca de 6-0 con 1.47 de efectividad.
• Yankees (19-14)-fueron barridos en dos juegos por Arizona y le ganaron la serie a los Twins gracias a 3 bambinazos de Gary Sánchez, 2 en un mismo juego. CC Sabathia llegó a los 3 mil poches en su carrera.
• Boston-(17-18)-Barrió a Oakland y le ganó 3 de 4 juegos a los White Sox. Sale ganó su 1er juego de la temporada. Michael Chavis sacó 3 bambinazos en la semana, dos en un juego, y Bogaerts sacó dos bambinazos en la semana incluyendo un grand slam.
• Toronto (15-19)-Fue barrido por los Angels y perdieron su serie ante Texas.
• Baltimore (12-22)-Con marca de 2-3 en la semana.

Central:

• Twins (20-12)-Odorizzi se apuntó dos triunfos, Berríos con victoria al lanzar sólidas 7 entradas y Martín Pérez se apunta un triunfo para poner su marca en 4-0 con 3.41 de efectividad.
• Indians (18-14)-Naquin con walk-off single. Marca de 3-2 en la semana.
• Detroit (15-16)-Le gana la serie a los Royals gracias a un walk-off homerun de tres carreras del bate de Brandon Dixon. Greene tiene 13 salvados.
• White Sox (14-18)-Delmanico con walk-off homerun de tres carreras.
• Royals (12-23)-Dividieron honores en 4 juegos ante los Rays y perdieron la serie ante Detroit. Soler conectó un par de bambinazos. El dominicano Kelvin Gutierrez sacó el primer cuadrangular de su carrera en MLB.

Oeste:

• Houston (20-14)-perdió su serie ante los Twins; pero ganó los dos juegos del México Series ante los Angels. Bregman sacó 3 bambinazos y remolcó 8 carreras en México. Sacó 5 bambinazos en la semana, incluyendo uno con las bases llenas. Brantley sacó un par de bambinazos en México.
• Seattle (19-17)-Erik Swanson gana su primer juego en la MLB. Encarnación con 3 bambinazos en la semana y Bruce con un grand slam homerun.
• Texas (16-16)-Barridos por los Pirates en dos juego.
• Angels (15-19)-Barrieron a los Angels y barridos por Houston.
• Oakland (15-21)-Barridos por Boston y perdieron la serie ante los Pirates.

Liga Nacional

Este:

• Phillies (19-14)-Hoskins conectó dos bambinazos, lleva 31 remolcadas.
• Braves (18-16)-Mike Soroka se apuntó dos triunfos.
• Mets (16-18)-Syndergaard con blanqueada y bambinazo, primer lanzador en lograr tal hazaña desde el 1983 (Bob Welch ante los Reds).
• Washington (14-19)-Botaron el coach de Pitcheo Derek Lilliquist y lo reemplazaron por Paul Menhart. Strasburg se convirtió en lanzador que más rápido (en menos entradas) en llegar a los 1,500 ponches.
• Miami (9-24)-fueron barridos por Atlanta.

Central:

• Cubs (19-12)-Llevan 7 victorias seguidas. Barrieron a Seattle y St. Louis. Kyle Hendricks lanzó una blanqueada y Lester se apuntó una victoria. Báez con un par de bambinazo y Bryant con un grand slam homerun.
• Cardinals (20-14)-Han perdido 4 juegos seguidos.
• Brewers (20-16)-Barrieron a los Mets. Aguilar con 3 bambinazos, 2 en un mismo juego. Yelich saca su bambinazo #15 en la temporada. Braun con un walk-off single en la entrada 18. Davies se apunta dos triunfos.
• Pirates (16-15)-Barrieron a Texas y le ganaron la serie a Oakland. Bell sacó 2 bambinazos en un juego y Starling Marte logró un walk-off homerun de tres carreras en la entrada 13. Vazquez con tres salvados.
• Reds (14-20)-El prospecto Nick Senzel sacó el primer bambinazo de su carrera en apenas su segundo juego en la MLB. Dietrich sacó 4 bambinazos en la semana, 2 en un juego donde remolcó 6.

Oeste:

• Dodgers (22-14)-Cody Bellinger se convirtió en el único jugador en remolcar 37 carreras antes del 1 de Mayo en la MLB.
• Arizona (20-14)-Greinke y L. Weaver se apuntaron triunfos. G. Holland salvó tres juegos. Ketel Marte sacó 3 bambinazos, dos en un juego.
• Padres (19-16)-Yates perdió dos juegos. Machado sacó 4 bambinazos, dos en un juego. Hunter Renfroe logra un walk-off grand slam homerun.
• Colorado (16-19)-Marca de 3-4 en la semana.

Las Vegas – For the first time in UFC^® history, the promotion will head to South Carolina as it visits the city of Greenville on June 22. Thrilling matchups featuring some of UFC’s top athletes will be on display in what will be a can’t-miss event for fight fans. The main event is still to be announced.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT ON ESPN+^® will stream live from Bon Secours Wellness Arena exclusively on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 22 (in both English and Spanish), with the prelims kicking off at 4 p.m. ET and airing on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. Doors open at 3 p.m. ET. 

Announced bouts on the card include:

• No. 10 ranked women’s flyweight Andrea Lee (10-2, fighting out of Shreveport, La.) looks to remain undefeated in the UFC when she takes on No. 11 ranked Montana De La Rosa (10-4, fighting out of Fort Worth, Texas)
• Fresh off his “Fight of the Night” bonus-earning effort in Phoenix earlier this year, Bryan Baberena (14-6, fighting out of Glendale, Ariz.) aims to put on another show for the fans when he faces Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight signee Randy Brown (10-3, fighting out of Queens, N.Y.)
• North Carolina native Allen Crowder (10-3, fighting out of Mebane, N.C.) goes for his second consecutive UFC win when he battles former kickboxing champion Jairzinho Rozenstruik (6-0, fighting out of Paramaribo, Suriname)

Las Vegas – UFC^® returns to Minneapolis for the first time in almost seven years with an action-packed card headlined by a thrilling rematch between former welterweight champions, as No. 1 ranked contender 

Tyron Woodley takes on No. 10 Robbie Lawler. No.1 ranked flyweight contender Jussier Formiga looks to even the score against No. 2 Joseph Benavidez.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT ON ESPN^®: WOODLEY vs. LAWLER 2 will air live from Target Center exclusively on ESPN and ESPN Deportes at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 29, with prelims kicking off at 6 p.m. ET. Doors open at 5 p.m. ET. All UFC live events on ESPN will also be available in English and Spanish. 

A decorated grappler with heavy hands, Woodley (19-4-1, fighting out of St. Louis, Mo.) dethroned Lawler via first-round knockout in July 2016, before holding the welterweight championship for more than two years. During his reign, he compiled successful title defenses against Stephen Thompson, Demian Maia and Darren Till. Woodley now looks to deliver another dominant performance and work his way back to a title shot.

A dangerous KO artist, Lawler (28-13 1NC, fighting out of Coconut Creek, Fla.) first captured the championship against Johny Hendricks in late 2014. Lawler then went on to have epic title defenses against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit. Lawler has also netted wins over Donald Cerrone, Matt Brown and Josh Koscheck during his career. He now hopes to score a measure of revenge against Woodley to re-assert himself as a title threat.

A black belt in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and judo, Formiga (23-5, fighting out of Natal, Brazil) aims to avenge a 2013 loss to Benavidez. A perennial contender, he has delivered spectacular victories against Sergio Pettis, Ben Nguyen, Dustin Ortiz and Wilson Reis. He now hopes to push his win streak to four fights and secure his first UFC title shot.

A two-time title challenger, Benavidez (27-5, fighting out of Las Cruces, N.M.) has remained a top contender in the flyweight division since its inception in 2012. A talented grappler with KO power, Benavidez has picked up impressive wins over current champion Henry Cejudo, Alex Perez, Tim Elliott and Dustin Ortiz (twice). He is now ready to stop Formiga a second time to earn another crack at the belt.

El torneo de sóftbol benéfico tendrá un gran premio de $1,500 en un certificado de compra para equipo deportivo en Deportes Salvador Colom.

San Juan,  Puerto Rico (30 de abril de 2019).  Toyota anunció hoy el inicio de la segunda edición del “Toyota Grand Slam for CAP”, un torneo de sóftbol a beneficio del área de oncología del Hospital Pediátrico. Los equipos se disputarán en ocho jornadas del 30 de mayo al 9 de junio, en los parques Donna Terry y Camarones, en Guaynabo. 

                “Estamos sumamente orgullosos de apoyar a la Fundación CAP por los pasados cinco años, ya que hemos visto el impacto que tienen en la vida de los niños pacientes de cáncer y sus familiares. En esta segunda edición del torneo lo estamos abriendo al público y esperamos la participación de 32 equipos”, comentó Maribel Bengoa, gerente de mercadeo de Toyota de Puerto Rico. 

Por su parte Robert Rodríguez, organizador del evento aseguró que “Este torneo es uno inclusivo, donde le ofrecemos participación a todo aquel que quiera jugar. Tendremos equipos con mujeres y hombres así como personas que tengan o no habilidades para jugar. Lo que queremos es que cada uno de los participantes se divierta. Este es un evento que está hecho para disfrutarse; en dónde se jugará bola muerta y con bate de madera.  Está ideado para jugarse sin perder el norte de que todo lo recaudado, en las inscripciones y la cantina, serán para la Fundación CAP”. 

Las  jornadas del “Toyota  Grand Slam for CAP”  serán el 30 y 31 de mayo así como el 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 y 9 de junio. El costo de la inscripción será de $750 por equipo y cada equipo podrá tener en su roster a 30 jugadores.  Se le garantizará a cada equipo tres partidos, que serán a cinco entradas o 45 minutos, lo primero que suceda.  Además, en el torneo se puede jugar con equipos mixtos. El gran premio para el equipo campeón será de $1,500 en un certificado de compra para equipo deportivo de Deportes Salvador Colom. 

La directora ejecutiva de la Fundación CAP, Nydia Fernández, destacó que Toyota de Puerto Rico no titubeó a la hora de crear este torneo y brindarle su apoyo a la organización una vez más.  

“El apoyo de Toyota de Puerto Rico a través de los años ha sido instrumental para sustentar proyectos claves y mantener servicios de apoyo a pacientes de oncología en el Hospital Pediátrico en Centro Médico.  Juntos, aseguramos que nuestros niños pacientes de cáncer reciban el mejor tratamiento de cáncer aquí en la Isla, cerca de su familia y de su hogar”, comentó Fernández. 

La Fundación CAP es una organización sin fines de lucro que trabaja por el bienestar de los niños pacientes de cáncer del Hospital Pediátrico, el principal hospital público pediátrico de Puerto Rico. 

En el 2019, la entidad celebra 30 años de compromiso continuo con el Hospital y la unidad de oncología.  La misión de la Fundación CAP es lograr que TODO niño paciente de cáncer -sin importar sus recursos económico- tenga acceso a un tratamiento de primera aquí en Puerto Rico, cerca de su familia y de su hogar. El 100% de los fondos recaudados permanecen en Puerto Rico y se utilizan para proveer equipo médico de avanzada para el Hospital Pediátrico y servicios de apoyo para sus pacientes y familiares.
