He is a crossover star too, appearing on various television shows, including Survivorin 2018. Plus, he has numerous film credits, including Boone: The Bounty Hunter, which he created, co-wrote and executive produced.
“Lucha Royalty” Taya Valkyrie is the reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion, a title she has held since early-January after defeating Tessa Blanchard. She is set to defend the Knockouts Championship at the Rebellion pay-per-view against Jordynne Grace.
Taya Valkyrie, who has been wrestling since 2010 and was trained by legendary Canadian wrestler Lance Storm, has had an illustrious career in Mexico. Competing for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, she is a former two-time and the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas Champion in history.

IMPACT Wrestling Partners with Reality of Wrestling for Deep Impact on July 6 in Houston
TORONTO | HOUSTON – IMPACT Wrestling teams up with Reality of Wrestling to present Deep Impact on Saturday, July 6, at the Booker T World Gym Arena near Houston, both promotions jointly announced.
Deep Impact will feature cross-promotional dream matches with the stars of IMPACT Wrestling battling the stars from Reality of Wrestling in the first-ever intra-promotional show.
Deep Impact will air live on IMPACT Wrestling’s Twitch channel.
Booker T is the owner of Reality of Wrestling, which has been training and developing top wrestlers from around the world since 2005. He had a legendary in-ring career himself, shining in WCW, WWE and IMPACT Wrestling – and he is a two-time member of the WWE Hall of Fame, including his 2019 induction with his brother Stevie Ray, as the WWE honored the 10-time tag team champions, Harlem Heat. Gail Kim Toronto Media Tour Set for Friday, April 26 Before IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion Pay-Per-View
TORONTO – One of the most decorated female wrestlers of all time, Gail Kim returns to her native Toronto to compete at the IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view on Sunday, April 28, at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto.
Kim faces third-generation wrestler Tessa Blanchard in one of the most anticipated matches at Rebellion. Kim also will be at the IMPACT Wrestling show on Monday, April 29 in Toronto, as the same venue plays host to television tapings for the company’s flagship weekly TV show, IMPACT!
Kim is available for in-person interviews on Friday, April 26, in Toronto.
In 2007, Kim became the first-ever IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion, and her seven title reigns is the most ever. Her combined 711 days as Knockouts Champion also is a record.
Kim was inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2016, and she remains the only female honoree.
Born and raised in Toronto, Kim was a multi-sport standout at York Memorial Collegiate Institute, where she played basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer and competed in track & field. She was named the school’s Athlete of the Year.
Kim then went on to the University of Toronto, where she studied physical and health education. She also attended Ryerson University to study nutrition.
Kim trained to be a professional wrestler in Toronto and is a lifelong Blue Jays fans – Pat Borders was her favorite player.
Kim is married to celebrity chef and talk show host Robert Irvine. The two, married in 2012, met on the set of Dinner: Impossible.
The Rebellion pay-per-view emanates from Toronto, featuring reigning World Champion Johnny Impact defending the title against Brian Cage. Other matches confirmed for Rebellion include Rich Swann defending the X-Division Championship against Sami Callihan and The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) defending the World Tag Team Championship against former champions LAX (Santana and Ortiz).

New episodes of IMPACT! will premiere on 5STAR from 26th April at 11pm with weekly episodes airing in the same timeslot on Friday nights.

PIDEN RENUNCIA DEL APODERADO DE LOS TIBURONES DE AGUADILLA EN EL BÉISBOL DOBLE A
Aguadilla - Un conglomerado de deportistas aguadillanos tronaron contra las acciones del apoderado de los Tiburones de Aguadilla en el béisbol doble A, Julio Roldan Concepción por la forma en la cual según ellos ha estado utilizando el equipo para resaltar su carrera política.
Roldan Concepción, quien actualmente es el presidente del Partido Popular Democrático en Aguadilla y se encuentra en medio de la reorganización de su colectividad camino a una posible candidatura a la poltrona municipal de Aguadilla, ha levantando serias molestias e incomodidades ante la afición deportiva, debido al reciente cambio de color en el informe, del tradicional azul, blanco, y amarillo, a rojo y blanco ya que según ellos elimina los colores que simbolizan la bandera aguadillana de las franelas de una de las franquicias más longevas de Puerto Rico.
“Aquí se han tenido en el pasado apoderados con ideologías independentistas y estadistas y nunca tuvieron el atrevimiento de tocar los colores de la bandera de Aguadilla del uniforme es la primera vez que como deportistas vemos esto en nuestro pueblo, lo cual nos tienen indignado” expreso el señor Juan Carlos Rodríguez, quien afirma que sigue la doble A desde los tiempo del longevo apoderado Aníbal Lugo.
Otras de las incomodidades que ha expresado el grupo que reúne deportistas de diferentes ramas es el hecho que se utilice el deporte, en este caso el beisbol para usarse como plataforma política.
La organización ha levantado bandera ante serios cuestionamientos en cuanto a la administración de la longeva franquicia debido a los cambios y la alegada venta de peloteros a otros equipos.
También hicieron hincapié en el manejo de las finanzas del equipo, pues a palabras del mismo señor Roldan lo cual ha expresado en diversas ocasiones no ha tenido ayudas para la franquicia por parte del Municipio de Aguadilla y la rama legislativa, lo cual según Rodríguez contrasta con algo que es de conocimiento público que a finales del pasado años 2018, el Senado de Puerto Rico otorgó donativo legislativo a la franquicia, la cual fue destinada para esta temporada 2019 y la organización desea saber ¿en que se uso dicho donativo?
Otros señalamientos que hace la organización es que a causa de estas paupérrimas actitudes partidistas que han afectado gravemente el deporte a causado la perdida de grandes auspiciadores del área de Aguadilla, que son fieles aportadores a la causa del deporte aguadillano. A esto se le suma el hecho de que por primera vez mas de 30 años los juegos locales y visitantes no sean trasmitidos por las emisoras principales de Aguadilla.
Otros señalamientos que hace la organización es que a causa de estas paupérrimas actitudes partidistas que han afectado gravemente el deporte a causado la perdida de grandes auspiciadores del área de Aguadilla, que son fieles aportadores a la causa del deporte aguadillano. A esto se le suma el hecho de que por primera vez mas de 30 años los juegos locales y visitantes no sean trasmitidos por las emisoras principales de Aguadilla.
Preocupación dentro del camerino de los Tiburones
A todo esto se le suma la controversia surgida con la abrupta salida la pasada semana del gerente general Kevin González, la cual en voces del mismo personal del equipo (el cual pidió mantenerse en el anonimato por temor a represalias) ha traído inestabilidad dentro del núcleo de la franquicia, ya que no cayó bien dicha salida dentro del camerino aguadillano, pues según ellos Kevin González tenía buena relación dentro del camerino con todo el equipo.
Otra de los preocupaciones es que el factor económico, ya que son varias la veces que allegadamente han escuchado del apoderado de los Tiburones la falta de dinero y tiene temor a que en algún momento su dieta o pago no les llego a tiempo.
Piden su renuncia inmediata
Ante estos señalamientos la organización de Aguadillanos Pro Deporte está solicitando las acciones necesarias por parte de la Federación de Béisbol de Puerto Rico, al presidente de la liga, el doctor José Quiles, y al Director del Torneo el señor Pedro Vargas, así como también solicitan la renuncia inmediata del señor Julio Roldan como apoderado del equipo de los Tiburones de Aguadilla en el béisbol doble A, ya que entienden que con sus acciones han lacerado y politizado gravemente la imagen del deporte aguadilllano.

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th, 2019. The free clinics feature former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth.
Players attending* include former All-Star infielder Sandy Alomar and 1977 American League Gold Glove Award-winning center fielder Juan Beniquez, as well as Mario Diaz and Jose Munoz. These four players combine for 42 seasons, 2,647 hits and 3,372 games in Major League Baseball.
The clinic on April 26th will take place at Estadio Tomas Palmares in Dorado, running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the clinic on April 27th will take place at Estadio Isidoro Garcia in Mayaguez, running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Maldonado y López son agentes libres
Aún queda por definirse el caso de otro jugador que pidió la agencia libre en los Criollos de Caguas.
San Juan, Puerto Rico (25 de abril de 2019). San Juan. La Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico Roberto Clemente certificó la agencia libre al veterano lanzador Iván Maldonado y el utility Jack López, de los Criollos de Caguas.
El director del torneo, Carlos Berroa, aseguró que la decisión fue tomada luego de finalizado el periodo dispuesto en los ARTICULOS 14.1 al 14.4 del Acuerdo Básico, suscrito entre la liga y la Asociación de Peloteros Profesionales de Puerto Rico.
“Los peloteros solicitaron la agencia libre a través de la Asociación según lo establecido. Los Criollos presentaron sus argumentos en contra de la petición de ambos jugadores. Sin embargo, luego de revisarlos, la liga certificó la petición de agencia libre para ambos jugadores”, explicó Berroa.
Ademٔás de Maldonado y López, otro jugador que pidió la agencia libre fue el veterano David Vidal. Sin embargo, dicho caso sigue en revisión.
“En el caso de Vidal, el caso sigue en revisión. la liga ha citado una vista administrativa -el próximo 29 de abril de 2019- en donde el presidente escuchara ambas partes, los argumentos a favor y en contra, para tomar una decisión final y firme con respecto al estatus pelotero”, dijo Berroa.
Para solicitar la agencia libre los jugadores tienen que haber estado disponible para jugar y/o haber participado en por lo menos en seis torneos consecutivos. A diferencia de las Grandes Ligas, el proceso en la liga invernal se lleva a cabo después de recibir la petición escrita del jugador a partir de su sexta temporada. La petición puede ser radicada por el jugador en cualquier momento.
Berroa le recordó al resto de los equipos que componen la liga que cualquier equipo que pierda un jugador vía agencia libre, recibiría como compensación -a ser pagado por el equipo que lo adquiera- el primer turno de dicho equipo en el siguiente Sorteo de Novatos, salvo que se acuerde lo contrario. Al momento se le ha otorgado la agencia a cinco de seis jugadores que lo han solicitado. En la lista se encuentran René Rivera, Andrés Santiago y Bryan Escanio, quienes pertenecían los Cangrejeros de Santurce.

El próximo paso será demostrar que cumplen con los requerimientos económicos establecidos.

La Junta de Directores de la Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico Roberto Clemente aceptó las recomendaciones del Comit֖é Evaluador para la posible participación de las franquicias de Manatí y Guaynabo para la próxima temporada. Tambiٞén se autorizó a continuar con las gestiones para el regreso de los Leones de Ponce para la temporada 2020-2021.
Todo lo relacionado a Manatí y Guaynabo estará sujeto a una serie de requerimientos a cumplir antes del 31 de mayo.
“Además del hecho que los estadios cumplan con los requerimientos establecidos en el Winter League Agreement con las Grandes Ligas, los posibles administradores deben ratificar los términos y condiciones económicos establecidos por la liga.”, dijo Juan A. Flores Galarza, presidente de la liga invernal.
Además, las cinco franquicias existentes que componen la liga confirmaron su interés de participar en la próxima temporada. Por otro lado, la liga aprobó respaldar al licenciado Juan Francisco Puello Herrera para la reelección como Comisionado de la Confederaciٔón de Béisbol Profesional del Caribe (CBPC) por los próximos cuatro años.
“Este apoyo incondicional de la Junta de Directores se le otorga a Puello en reconocimiento a su trabajo, aportación y dedicación por las pasadas tres décadas al deporte del béisbol que tanto amamos. Tres décadas en donde nos ha demostrado ser una persona honorable, transparente y de altos valores éticos, donde sus decisiones estuvieron siempre enmarcadas en proteger la institucionalidad de la CBPC por encima de cualquier interés particular o personal”, señaló Flores Galarza.
