Players should also download the waiver form, complete it, and bring it to the first day of the tryout. Players should send questions or comments to tryouts@puertoricofc.com.
PRFC is also pleased to announce the signing of Brian Bement, a 22 year old player who recently completed his college career at Loyola University of Chicago. His story is an amazing one as he paid his way down to the PRFC tryout in Bradenton earlier this month, and now is a professional soccer player!
A goal scoring striker during his college days, he emerged very quickly in the tryout as a central midfield player who has stamina, speed and a true understanding of the game, which should lead to his having a long professional career. Brian is proof that the tryouts work as he is the first tryout player to be signed to a full playing contract for PRFC's inaugural season.
“It is exciting for the PRFC staff to see quality players like Brian at our tryouts. Brian stood out in the Florida tryout, and then excelled during our invite only combine with a senior group of pro players. Through his hard work and determination, and his obvious abilities as a player, Brian has earned a contract with Puerto Rico Football Club. We look forward to seeing some very good players at our Puerto Rico tryout as well.” said Adrian Whitbread, PRFC Head Coach.
PRFC season tickets are on sale to the public now. Visit puertoricofc.com, or ticketpop.com for more information on available seats and all the great season ticket holder benefits.

PRFC WRAPS UP FIRST EVER TRYOUTS AND PRO COMBINE
San Juan, PR, March 23, 2016– The Puerto Rico Football Clubtechnical staff concluded a very successful and busy ten-day trip to the US that included near-sellout tryouts in Florida and California, and an invite only player combine, also in Florida.
The trip began with the Florida tryouts, which took place on March 12th and 13th. “We were really pleased and a little surprised at the quality of player that came to our first ever tryout in Bradenton, FL. In fact, we selected several players to join our pro player combine which also took place at the IMG Academy. It is very possible that we will also ask a couple of others from both tryouts to join us for a trial period in Puerto Rico.” Said Tom Payne, President of Puerto Rico Football Club.
Selected from the FL tryout to participate in the PRFC Pro Combine in Florida were Tanner Sica, a 6ft left back and captain at Long Island University, Brian Bement. a central midfielder from Chicago who played at and graduated from Loyola University, Anderson Pinto a 6ft midfielder from London who has played in Portugal, and Evan Greenbaum, a defender, who played at Rollins College in Central Florida. Also selected were goalkeepers Andy Ramos, who has played a full international for Cuba before having a spell at FC Edmonton, and Ryan Coulter from Ireland who went to East Tennessee University.
The invite-only player combine began on Monday, March 14thwith approximately 30 players in total and raised the level of play significantly from the tryout. Payne added: "The tryout players selected have done very well in the invite only camp as well, even with the combine players being at a higher standard and including many professional players who are looking for their next team. We couldn't be any more happy with both events, and we thank all the players for their commitment and for the time they took out of their schedules to join us for all day sessions with our coaching staff.”
The PRFC technical staff moved on to California for the tryouts in Santa Monica, which took place on March 19th and 20th under perfect blue skies. Head Coach Adrian Whitbread commented “Again, the quality of player was good and several players caught the eye of the coaching staff. We will be discussing these and all players over the next week and will make decisions on which players we want to invite to trial in Puerto Rico, and which, if any, we want to offer a contract to right away.”
PRFC would like to thank the IMG Academy in Bradenton for hosting us and for their excellent support of our events, the Autobahn Soccer Club for hosting us in California, and alsoKwik Goal, for their partnership, and for providing training equipment for the tryouts and combine, and for our first season in the NASL.
The club will announce very soon the dates and registration information for their first-ever tryouts to be held in Puerto Rico. “We have already received strong interest from all over Puerto Rico, as well as the entire Caribbean and several countries in South and Central America. We look forward to announcing our tryouts at home in Puerto Rico within the next week.” Payne remarked.
