MORE THAN 450 ACTIVE PLAYERS, NFL LEGENDS, CLUBS AND PARTNERS TO HOST YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMPS THIS SUMMER
The Play Football Summer Season is an NFL Youth Football initiative highlighting summer football in communities across the country. The camps and activities promise a fun environment to teach young athletes proper playing technique at all skill levels and emphasize the values learned from playing football.
“This platform does more than provide a place for youth to learn to play football,” said ROMAN OBEN, NFL Vice President of Youth and High School Football. “It provides lifelong lessons in leadership, discipline and teamwork. Thousands of youth and high school students will learn the fundamentals of football from current players, NFL Legends and coaches, who have a passion to help young people and their communities on and off the field.”
The NFL Foundation, the NFL's nonprofit organization representing all 32 clubs, has awarded over $1 million in grants through the Youth Football Camp Grant Program. In its 22nd year, the programrecognizes NFL players and coaches who give back to communities in their hometowns or club markets and offer young athletes the opportunity to play in a healthy and fun environment. As part of summer camp season festivities, more than 450 current players, NFL Legends and coaches will host free, non-contact youth football camps for more than 80,000 children. More than 200 recipients will receive grants to host a single-day FUNdamentals camp featuring a USA Football curriculum. FUNdamentals camps are designed to introduce boys and girls to the fun of football and advance their physical wellbeing through the sport's basic skills and movements in an exciting, high-activity format.

Hatch Show Print to Sell Team Posters Created for the 2019 NFL Draft
Nashville, Tenn., May 22, 2019 – Hatch Show Print, the historic, 140-year-old Nashville letterpress print shop, announced today it will sell limited quantities of the letterpress posters it created for each of the NFL's 32 teams for the 2019 NFL Draft. The posters are only available through pre-order via the Hatch Show Print website,www.HatchShowPrint.com.

Late last year, the NFL commissioned Hatch Show Print to develop custom posters for the 2019 NFL Draft. Each poster was designed specifically with each team's fan base in mind. Hatch Show Print's team of designer/printers worked directly with the NFL and researched each of the 32 teams to gain an understanding of who the team is and who they represent. Team slogans, logos and history were all incorporated into the designs.

The Hatch Show Print team, led by Associate Director Celene Aubry, pulled from its extensive collection of wood type, ranging in size from half an inch to sixteen inches, to create these posters that celebrate the NFL through typography-driven design. For each poster, the shop's team of designer/printers set the wood and metal type by hand, and produced the work on 50- to 100-plus-year-old printing presses.

"To be able to tell the story of each team and their fans through a Hatch Show Print poster is something that is unique and truly Nashville," said Aubry. "It's really gratifying to experience the excitement fans everywhere have for something we make with our hands, using materials that have passed through five generations of designers and printers working in this shop."

Hatch Show Print posters were prominently featured throughout the NFL's creative kit for a NFL Draft that [/Pages/2019-NFL-DRAFT-REACHES-NEW-HEIGHTS-AND-RECORD-NUMBERS---47.5-MILLION-VIEWERS-AND-600,000-FANS-IN-ATTENDANCE-.aspx]broke records in both attendance in Nashville and television viewership.

"It's been amazing to see how these custom Hatch Show Print team posters from the NFL Draft have resonated with fans, whether they were on the ground in Nashville, or simply viewed on television or social media," said Julie Haddon, NFL Senior Vice President of Global Brand and Consumer Marketing. "The design of these posters captured the spirit of Nashville while uniquely reflecting each team. We're thrilled that we were able to continue our work with Hatch Show Print to deliver NFL fans with a keepsake from one of the most entertaining and memorable NFL Draft experiences in recent history."

"We are excited to showcase the next generation of NFL athletes to our fans on a weekly basis," said Hans Schroeder, Chief Operating Officer of NFL Media. "Our fans crave live football, and partnering with Conference USA – a conference which boasts several Hall of Fame players – provides us with an excellent opportunity to do so."
The full NFL Network slate of games will be released with the rest of the 2019 C-USA Football multimedia schedule at a later date. C-USA football games on NFL Network will also be available through the NFL app and via Watch NFL Network on smartphones, tablets, PCs and connected TV devices for subscribers of participating NFL Network providers.
C-USA shares a rich history with the NFL, with some of the game's greatest players coming from the conference. Pro Football Hall of Famers who played their college football at C-USA schools include Brett Favre (Southern Miss), Randy Moss (Marshall), Terry Bradshaw (Louisiana Tech), "Mean" Joe Greene (North Texas), and others. Additionally, 16 players from C-USA have been selected in the NFL Draft over the last two years, including Marcus Davenport from UTSA selected No. 14 overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft. In total, there were 83 C-USA players on NFL rosters at the end of the 2018 season.

NFL-NFLPA JOINT AGREEMENTS TO PROTECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLNESS OF NFL PLAYERS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 20, 2019
NEW YORK, N.Y. – May 20, 2019 – The NFL and NFL Players Association today announced two joint agreements that will support further resources directed to address pain management and behavioral health. First, the NFL and NFLPA will work together to address the challenges of pain management for our current players and work to advance and understand the science in this area to improve potential treatments. The second agreement builds on the substantial player behavioral and mental health care resources available to NFL players with additional programs directed toward education, prevention, and overall behavioral health throughout the league.
Prescription Medication and Pain Management
The NFL and NFLPA will form a Joint Pain Management Committee including medical experts appointed by both the league and union, which will establish uniform standards for club practices and policies regarding pain management and the use of prescription medication by NFL players as well as conduct research concerning pain management and alternative therapies. The Joint Committee will also receive periodic reports from a newly-developed Prescription Drug Monitoring Program that will monitor all prescriptions issued to NFL players by club physicians and unaffiliated physicians. Prior to the start of the 2019 NFL Season, each NFL club must appoint a Pain Management Specialist who possesses certain agreed-upon credentials, including active engagement in pain management as part of his or her medical practice.
Behavioral and Mental Health Care
The NFL and NFLPA will form a Comprehensive Mental Health and Wellness Committee, which will develop educational programs for players, coaches, club personnel and players' family members regarding mental health and wellness. Additionally, the Committee will collaborate with local and national mental health and suicide prevention organizations to reduce stigma related to mental health and promote suicide prevention and awareness. The NFL and NFLPA will also now formally mandate that each team retains a Behavioral Health Team Clinician focused on supporting players' emotional and mental health and well-being. Each Team Clinician must possess certain minimum qualifications and be retained and jointly approved by the NFL and NFLPA by the start of Training Camp for the 2019 season. The Team Clinician is required to be available to players at the team facility for at least 8-12 hours per week, and must, among other responsibilities, conduct mandatory mental health educational sessions for players and coaching staff. The Clinician must also create and conduct team rehearsals of a Mental Health Emergency Action Planto implement for the upcoming season.
This summer, the NFL and NFLPA will convene sessions with head team physicians, head team internal medicine physicians, head athletic trainers, Behavioral Health Team Clinicians, Pain Management Specialists, and others to discuss the requirements in both agreements, among other topics. Adherence to both agreements is mandatory across all clubs.

Broadcast, Cable, and Digital Viewing Combine to Establish Records for the NFL Draft in Nashville
NASHVILLE, TN: The 2019 NFL Draft is in the books and has set new records in media consumption and fan attendance. With a combined 3.9 HH TV rating and average of 6.1M viewers across NFL, ESPN and ABC TV and digital channels, the 2019 NFL Draft is the highest-rated and most-watched Draft ever, breaking records established just a year ago. In total across Nielsen-measured channels, all NFL Draft telecasts combined to reach more than 47.5 million viewers over the three-day event, up +5% vs. 2018.
The 2019 NFL Draft featured the broadest ever distribution of official NFL Draft video with NFL Network, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes in addition to NFL and ESPN digital and social properties. This was the second straight year that all seven rounds of the live, three-day event were aired on broadcast television.
The collaborative distribution approach across NFL Media and The Walt Disney Company helped grow the combined rating and viewership by +11% and +8% respectively over 2018.
In addition to media consumption, the 2019 NFL Draft shattered records for attendance as over 600,000 fans fill the streets of Nashville to celebrate the newest class of NFL rookies, easily establishing a new record (250k in 2017 – Philadelphia). Many of those in Nashville not attending the NFL Draft in-person were watching from home, as the market delivered a combined for a 10.6 HH rating – up +104% versus Nashville last year, and up +74% versus the 2018 host city.
"The 2019 NFL Draft was a tremendous continuation of the celebration of the NFL's 100thseason and an opportunity to welcome the next generation of stars," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "Dramatic and emotional storylines played out in cities across the country with the energetic host city of Nashville serving as a breathtaking backdrop to hundreds of thousands of passionate fans who lined the streets and enjoyed a unique NFL Draft Experience. We congratulate our newest players and their families and thank the Tennessee Titans, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp., the City of Nashville, the volunteers, and everyone who made the Draft such a memorable, entertaining, and successful experience."

As per Article 21 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, each club’s official, voluntary nine-week offseason program is conducted in three phases:
Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.
Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program. On-field workouts may include individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a “separates” basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.
Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”. No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

New head coaches are entitled to conduct an additional voluntary veteran minicamp.  Any voluntary minicamp for veteran players must be conducted prior to the NFL Draft (April 25-27), but no earlier than week three of the club’s offseason workout program and after at least one week of the two weeks of Phase One activities that the clubs may hold pursuant to Article 21. This year, eight clubs held voluntary veteran minicamps.
Each club may hold a rookie football development program for a period of seven weeks, which in 2019 may begin on May 13. During this period, no activities may be held on weekends, with the exception of one post-NFL Draft rookie minicamp, which may be conducted on either the first or second weekend following the draft. The dates of each club’s post-draft rookie minicamp are listed below.
