Week 9 kicks off on Thursday, November 1 (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon Prime) with a battle of the Bay Area as the Oakland Raiders travel to Levi’s Stadium to take on the San Francisco 49ers. Thursday marks the 14th overall meeting between the two teams with the Raiders leading the series, 7-6. In their last game, Oakland quarterback DEREK CARR completed 22 of 28 passes (78.6 percent) for 254 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a career-high 140.2 passer rating in the Raiders’ 24-13 win over San Francisco on December 7, 2014.

Last week, Carr passed for 244 yards with three touchdown passes and no interceptions for a 136.6 passer rating and tight end JARED COOK had a team-high 74 receiving yards and a score in the Raiders’ loss to Indianapolis. Carr, who has completed 72 percent of his passes and has 2,027 passing yards this season, is one of three quarterbacks in the NFL with at least 2,000 passing yards and a completion percentage of 70 or higher in 2018, joining Atlanta’s MATT RYAN and Minnesota’s KIRK COUSINS. Cook ranks fourth among NFL tight ends with 474 receiving yards and ties for fourth with three touchdown catches in 2018.

San Francisco wide receiver MARQUISE GOODWIN caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from quarterback C.J. BEATHARD and kicker ROBBIE GOULD connected on both of his field-goal attempts in the 49ers’ Week 8 loss at Arizona. 49ers linebacker FRED WARNER, who tied for the team lead with seven tackles last week, ranks second among all NFL rookies with 65 tackles. San Francisco cornerback RICHARD SHERMAN ties for fourth among active players with 32 career interceptions.

SEVEN FROM SUNDAY – WEEK 8

A look at seven statistical highlights from games played at 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 28th, the eighth week of the 2018 season.

Indianapolis kicker ADAM VINATIERI converted two field goals and all four of his point-after attempts for 10 total points scored in the Colts' 42-28 win at Oakland.

Vinatieri, who has scored 2,550 total points during his 23-year NFL career, surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer MORTEN ANDERSEN (2,544) as the league's all-time leading scorer.

Philadelphia quarterback CARSON WENTZ completed 21 of 30 passes (70 percent) for 286 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for a 119.6 rating in the Eagles' 24-18 victory over Jacksonville before a crowd of 85,870 at London's Wembley Stadium, the largest single-game attendance in the London Series since the league began playing annual games in London in 2007.

Wentz became the second quarterback in NFL history with at least 30 pass attempts and a passer rating of at least 115 in four consecutive games, joining Denver's PEYTON MANNING (2012).
Wentz, who had 28 rushing yards and caught a four-yard pass off of a deflection, is the first player with a passing first down, rushing first down and receiving first down in a London Series game.

The LOS ANGELES RAMS defeated Green Bay, 29-27, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Rams, who are the league's last remaining unbeaten team, advance to 8-0 for the first time since 1969.

Rams running back TODD GURLEY had 195 scrimmage yards (114 rushing, 81 receiving) and a receiving touchdown in the win. Gurley, who leads the league with 15 touchdowns this season, became the fourth player in NFL history with at least 15 touchdowns in his team's first eight games of a season, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer JIM BROWN (17 touchdowns in 1958) and PRIEST HOLMES (15 touchdowns in both 2002 and 2004).

Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES completed 24 of 34 attempts (70.6 percent) for 303 yards with four touchdowns and one interception for a 125 rating in the Chiefs' 30-23 win against Denver.

Mahomes, who had four touchdown passes in both Week 6 and Week 7, became the fourth quarterback in NFL history to throw at least four touchdown passes in three consecutive games, joining DREW BREES (three consecutive games in 2011), PEYTON MANNING (five consecutive games in 2004) and Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO (four consecutive games in 1984).
With 303 passing yards, Mahomes joined ANDREW LUCK (eight consecutive games in 2014) and DREW BREES (seven consecutive games 2011) as the only quarterbacks in league annals with seven consecutive games with at least 300 passing yards in a single season.

Pittsburgh wide receiver ANTONIO BROWN had six receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns and running back JAMES CONNER rushed for 146 yards with two touchdowns in the Steelers' 33-18 win over Cleveland.

Brown, who has eight touchdown receptions on the season, is the fifth player since 1970 to record at least eight touchdown catches in six consecutive seasons, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers JERRY RICE (11 seasons from 1986-96), MARVIN HARRISON (eight from 1999-2006) and CRIS CARTER (six from 1995-2000), and ANTONIO GATES (seven from 2004-10).
Conner, who had two rushing touchdowns in Weeks 1, 5 and 6, is the third first-or-second year player to record four games with at least two rushing touchdowns in his team's first seven games of a season, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers STEVE VAN BUREN (1945), JIM BROWN (1958) and ERIC DICKERSON (1983).

Washington running back ADRIAN PETERSON had 149 rushing yards on 26 attempts (5.7 average) and two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in the Redskins' 20-13 win at the New York Giants.

Peterson, at 33 years and 221 days old, is the oldest player in NFL history to record at least 100 rushing yards and both a rushing and receiving touchdown in a single game. Miami's RICKY WILLIAMS, at the age of 32 years, 182 days old, was previously the oldest player to accomplish the feat (November 19, 2009 at Carolina).

With a 64-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, Peterson joined STEVE BONO (76 yards on October 1, 1995), ROCKY BLEIER (70 yards on October 7, 1979) and Pro Football Hall of Famer JIM THORPE(80 yards on October 16, 1921) as the only players with a touchdown run of at least 60 yards at age 33 or older in NFL history.

Peterson is the fourth player in league annals with at least 140 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in a single game at age 33 or older, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers JOHN HENRY JOHNSON (200 rushing yards and three touchdowns on October 10, 1964) and JOHN RIGGINS (140 rushing yards and one touchdown on September 23, 1984) and DE ANGELO WILLIAMS (143 rushing yards and two touchdowns on September 12, 2016).

Seahawks quarterback RUSSELL WILSON completed 14 of 17 passes (82.4 percent) for 248 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 158.3 passer rating in the Seahawks' 28-14 win at Detroit.

Wilson is the first quarterback in franchise history to register a 158.3 passer rating (minimum 10 attempts), the highest rating a passer can achieve. He is the second quarterback to accomplish the feat this season, joining Los Angeles Rams' quarterback JARED GOFF (158.3 passer rating in Week 4).

NFL AND TAPS TO HOST MILITARY FAMILIES IN LONDON

Bereaved Families of Fallen Heroes Connect During Healing Weekend and

Attend Eagles-Jaguars Game at Wembley Stadium

The NFL and its military nonprofit partner, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors(TAPS), which provides care for families of fallen American military service members, will host an exclusive experience for surviving military families in London which will culminate with the Eagles-Jaguars game at Wembley Stadium on October 28. Families from the United States and United Kingdom will come together to connect and build a stronger community.
U.K. families from Scotty's Little Soldiers, a local organization that brings comfort and care to bereaved children of military parents, will join American families for the weekend. The Diana Award and KPMG will host surviving families at a kickoff dinner with BONNIE CARROLL, TAPS President and Founder. Activities throughout the weekend include a visit to the U.S. Embassy, a private tour of the Althorp Estate, the childhood home of Princess Diana, and a dinner on base with the Royal Corps of Signals. Surviving children and young adults will also participate in a series of workshops led by The Diana Award, an organization founded as a legacy to Diana, Princess of Wales and dedicated to the belief that young people have the power to better the world.
Families will attend the Eagles' practice on Saturday and participate in a meet-and-greet with players and coaches. The weekend experience concludes with the Eagles-Jaguars game on Sunday.

SCHEDULE CHANGES

The NFL announced today a scheduling change for Week 10, as well as the teams and times for the Saturday games in Weeks 15 and 16.

In Week 10 (November 11), the Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers game will move from 1 PM ET on CBS to 4:25 PM ET on CBS. Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals at Kansas City Chiefs game originally scheduled at 1 PM ET on FOX will be cross-flexed to CBS.

In Week 15, the two games played on Saturday, December 15, both televised by NFL Network, will feature the Houston Texans at the New York Jets at 4:30 PM ET followed by the Cleveland Browns at the Denver Broncos at 8:20 PM ET.

In Week 16, the two of four possible matchups on Saturday, December 22 on NFL Network have been determined with the Washington Redskins visiting the Tennessee Titans at 4:30 PM ET followed by the Baltimore Ravens at the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:20 PM ET. NFL ENTERS WEEK 8 AS 2018 SEASON APPROACHES MIDPOINT

As the season approaches the halfway point, the standings remain tight throughout the league as teams close out the month of October. Entering Week 8, there are 18 teams with a .500 or better winning percentage and 14 clubs with a winning record. Since 1990, 297 of the league’s 336 playoff teams (88 percent) had a winning record through seven games.

Through the first seven weeks of the season, 25 teams have at least three wins. Five teams – KANSAS CITY (6-1), the LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (5-2), the LOS ANGELES RAMS (7-0), NEW ENGLAND (5-2) and NEW ORLEANS (5-1) – have at least five wins this season. Since 1990, when the current 12-team playoff format was adopted, 80 percent (205 of 256) of the previous teams to start 5-2 or better advanced to the postseason, including eight of the nine teams to begin the season 5-2 or better in 2017.

A slow start, however, does not mean that hope is gone. There have been 39 teams since 1990 with a .500 or lower record after seven games to advance to the postseason.

The Rams, who are 7-0 for the first time since 1985, lead the league in point differential (+107), rank third averaging 33.6 points per game and fourth in points allowed per game (18.3). The NFL enters Week 8 following another exciting weekend of action. Through the first seven weeks of the season, 61 games have been decided by one score, the second-most in NFL history through Week 7 (62 games in 2012), including seven such games last week. At least one game has gone to overtime in each of the first seven weeks of the 2018 season, marking the first time since the regular-season overtime rule was instituted in 1974 that there has been an overtime game in each of a season’s first seven weeks.

The 2018 London Series concludes on Sunday morning (9:30 AM ET, NFL Network) as the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES meet the JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at Wembley Stadium. The Eagles are making their first appearance in London, while the Jaguars will play in the UK for the sixth consecutive season. On Sunday Night Football, a rematch of the 2017 NFC Divisional Playoff game between the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS and MINNESOTA VIKINGS takes center stage at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis (8:20 PM ET, NBC). In that contest, former Vikings quarterback CASE KEENUM connected on a 61-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver STEFON DIGGS as time expired in the fourth quarter, giving Minnesota a 29-24 victory and punching a ticket to the NFC Championship Game. Saints quarterback DREW BREES leads the NFL with a 77.3 completion percentage (170 completions in 220 attempts) and a 121.6 passer rating, and has 13 touchdown passes without an interception this season. Week 8 gets underway on Thursday, October 25 (8:20 PM ET, FOX/NFL Network/Amazon) as the Houston Texans welcome the Miami Dolphins to NRG Stadium. The Dolphins and Texans face off for the ninth time with Houston holding a 7-1 series advantage. In the last meeting between the two teams, Dolphins quarterback RYAN TANNEHILL completed 18 of 19 passes (94.7 percent) for 282 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 158.3 passer rating – the highest-attainable mark – in Miami’s 44-26 home victory on October 25, 2015.
In Week 7, Dolphins quarterback BROCK OSWEILER passed for two touchdowns and running back KENYAN DRAKE rushed for a 54-yard score in the team’s loss to Detroit. Dolphins linebacker KIKO ALONSO ranks second in the NFL with 66 tackles and is the only player with at least 50 tackles and three forced fumbles (three) this season. Running back FRANK GORE has 18,087 career scrimmage yards in his 14-year NFL career and can surpass Pro Football Hall of Famer BARRY SANDERS (18,190) for the sixth-most scrimmage yards in league history.
Houston’s defense, led by defensive end JADEVEON CLOWNEY (two sacks and a fumble recovery) and safety TYRANN MATHIEU (one sack and one interception), held Jacksonville to 259 total net yards in Week 7 en route to a 20-7 victory over the Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field. Clowney, who is tied for second in the AFC with nine tackles for loss this season, has 46 TFL since 2016, the second-most in the NFL over the span (CHANDLER JONES, 49). Texans defensive end J.J. SEVEN FROM SUNDAY – WEEK 7

A look at seven statistical highlights from games played at 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 21st, the seventh week of the 2018 season.

New Orleans quarterback DREW BREES completed 22 of 30 passes (73.3 percent) for 212 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 114.9 rating in the Saints' 24-23 victory at Baltimore.

Brees, who has 501 career touchdown passes, became the fourth player in NFL history with at least 500 career touchdown passes, joining PEYTON MANNING(539), Pro Football Hall of Famer BRETT FAVRE (508) and TOM BRADY (504).
With today's win against the Ravens, Brees joins Manning and Favre as the only quarterbacks to defeat all 32 current NFL teams.

Minnesota wide receiver ADAM THIELEN had nine receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown in the Vikings' 37-17 victory over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Thielen has recorded at least 100 receiving yards in each of Minnesota's first seven games this season, tying CHARLEY HENNIGAN (seven consecutive games in 1961) as the only players in NFL history with 100 or more receiving yards in each of his team's first seven games of a season. Thielen became the fifth player to record seven consecutive games with at least 100 receiving yards in a single season in NFL history.

Thielen, who went undrafted in 2013, is the fourth undrafted player in the common draft era to record at least seven games with 100 or more receiving yards in a single season, joining ROD SMITH (8 games in 2000), WES WELKER (8 in 2011) & VICTOR CRUZ (7 in 2011).

Los Angeles Rams running back TODD GURLEY scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) in Rams' 39-10 victory at San Francisco. The Rams, who are the league's only unbeaten team, begin the season 7-0 for the first time since 1985.

Gurley, who has 14 total touchdowns (11 rushing, three receiving) this season, is the third different player with at least 14 touchdowns in his team's first seven games to start a season, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer JIM BROWN (15 in 1958) and PRIEST HOLMES (14 in 2002 and 14 in 2004).

Tampa Bay kicker CHANDLER CATANZARO converted the game-winning 59-yard field goal with 1:50 remaining in the Buccaneers' 26-23 overtime win over Cleveland.

Catanzaro's 59-yarder is the longest game-winning field goal in overtime since the regular-season overtime rule was instituted in 1974, surpassing the previous record of 57 yards set by Oakland's SEBASTIAN JANIKOWSKI (October 19, 2008 vs. the New York Jets).
At least one game has gone to overtime in each of the first seven weeks of the 2018 season, marking the first time that a season has featured at least one overtime game in each of its first seven weeks.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback PHILIP RIVERS completed 19 of 26 passes (73.1 percent) for 306 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 137.7 rating in the Chargers' 20-19 victory over Tennessee before a crowd of 84,301 at London's Wembley Stadium.

Rivers, who threw touchdowns of 75 and 55 yards, became the first quarterback with two touchdown passes of at least 50 yards in the 23 NFL games played in London since 2007. By the end of the 2018 season, the NFL will have played 24 regular-season games in London, with 29 of 32 teams having participated.

Rivers, who has 60 career games with at least 300 passing yards, is the sixth player in NFL history to record at least 60 such games, joining DREW BREES (112), PEYTON MANNING (93), TOM BRADY (84) and Pro Football Hall of Famers DAN MARINO (63) and BRETT FAVRE (62).

Carolina wide receiver CURTIS SAMUEL rushed for a touchdown and quarterback CAM NEWTON threw two touchdowns passes, including a one-yard pass to tight end GREG OLSEN with 1:22 remaining in the fourth quarter, in the Panthers' 21-17 victory over Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Panthers, who trailed 17-0 in the fourth quarter, recorded the largest fourth-quarter comeback victory in franchise history.
The HOUSTON TEXANS defeated Jacksonville, 20-7, in Week 7. The Texans are the sixth team since 1970 to win four consecutive games immediately following an 0-3 start to a season, joining the 1970 New York Giants, 1986 Los Angeles Raiders, 1998 Buffalo Bills, 2000 Pittsburgh Steelers and 2011 Kansas City Chiefs.
The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS defeated Chicago, 38-31, at Soldier Field. The Patriots, who scored 38 points in both Week 4 and Week 5 and 43 points in Week 6, are the fifth team since 1970 to score at least 38 points in four consecutive games in a single season, joining the 2014 Dallas Cowboys, 2004 Indianapolis Colts, 2000 St. Louis Rams and 1998 Minnesota Vikings.

Detroit rookie running back KERRYON JOHNSON rushed for 158 yards on 19 carries (8.3 average) in the Lions' 32-21 victory at Miami.

Johnson is the first Lions running back with at least 150 rushing yards in a single game since JAHVID BEST (163 vs. Chicago on October 10, 2011). The Lions combined for 248 rushing yards on Sunday, the most by the franchise in a single game since November 23, 1997 (249 yards vs. Indianapolis).

NFL TO CELEBRATE 100^TH SEASON IN 2019 WITH YEAR-LONG "NFL 100" NATIONAL EVENTS 

The National Football League will celebrate its 100^th Season in 2019 with a year-long series of "NFL 100" events, initiatives and programming centered around fans, players and communities, it was announced tonight.
The historic and unprecedented celebration will salute the millions of fans who love the game; highlight the unifying nature of football and its positive impact in communities; bring together generations of past, present and future players; and look ahead to the NFL's next 100 years. In the coming months, information will be shared about national and local "NFL 100" plans and ways fans can join in the celebration.
A special "NFL 100" logo, unveiled tonight during halftime of the Thursday Night Football game, will be prominently displayed throughout the 100^th season – during celebrations on the field, in stadiums, game broadcasts, NFL Films and NFL Network programming, and digital and social media content. In addition, the "NFL 100" logo will be featured on game balls and on every player's game jersey in the neck area. NFL business partners will also use the logo in activations and on an array of merchandise.
"For nearly 100 years, the NFL has been part of the fabric of America, unifying communities and bringing fans together to support their favorite teams and players." said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "We have the greatest fans in the world. Next year, we will join our fans in celebrating what this incredible game means to each of us."
Additional Background
'NFL 100" will officially kick off at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta and will be featured during offseason events like the Draft in Nashville and enshrinement week at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. The celebration will ramp up during the lead-up to the Kickoff of the 2019 season in September and continue throughout the season, culminating at Super Bowl LIV in Miami.

2018 FALL MEETING – NEW YORK – OCTOBER 17, 2018

Roger Goodell: Good afternoon. We covered a great deal over the last couple of days. I'm sure you'll have plenty of questions and I'll be happy to answer those.
The focus was on the competition and the game itself. The quality of the games that we are having, the quality and the closeness of the competition, the extraordinary play of the offenses which are at historic highs for the NFL. There are also the future stars, so many good young players establishing themselves very quickly as great players and the excitement that comes with that.
In addition, we see all the fan metrics follow that. They are all very strong and showing tremendous growth, which I think is a reflection of the quality of the game itself and the play of our players and the work of our coaches.
I will leave you with something that I have said to the owners many times. I don't think there has been a better time to be an NFL fan. The quality of the games and the enjoyment that comes with that, I hear it from the fans all the time – that is number one for them. Number two, is the access to the games and the way that fans are able to engage with the NFL. There are more platforms and more opportunities to do that. The experience is better because of technology. All of that creates a much better opportunity for our fans to enjoy football and NFL football.
From our standpoint, we look at this as a great moment for us – the tremendous growth and the tremendous popularity of our game. I am happy to take your questions.
On the anthem policy and the negotiations with the NFLPA:
RG: The focus of both the NFLPA and the NFL, the clubs and our players has been to focus on the effort of the players on the issues they have raised and how can make their communities better. They are incredibly passionate about that. They have brought these issues greater awareness and they are working in their communities to try to make them better. They are working on issues, such as criminal justice reform. I have been on Listen and Learn tours with players, owners have been on Listen and Learns. The players are out there as well, and we can see the tremendous work that they are doing. We have reported over the last two days on the tremendous work that is being done in that area. Most importantly, we talked about the impact that our clubs and players are having working to address these issues. That is where our focus is right now, as it should be.
On the new LA stadium and the league helping the Chargers build a fan base in LA, differences between visits to LA last year as compared to this year:
RG: The biggest difference between last year's visits and this year's visits is the stadium. I had the chance to go through the stadium two weeks ago. It is extraordinary in every sense of the word. It's going to set a new standard for stadiums on a global basis. I am confident it will be known as not only the best stadium, but also the best complex in the world. That excitement is going to build as we get closer, as we are still two years away. There is lots of football and lots of building still to do. We were out of the market for a long time. We have to earn our way back with our fans. We have to build that relationship back with our fans and make sure that we do it right. Both teams are committed to that and it will be something that we will have to work at over time. They both have very exciting teams and that will be helpful also. All of those things will come together over the next two years.
On Jerry Jones mentioning to media that there has been a lot of discussion at these meetings about officiating and how roughing the passer is being officiated:
RG: Well that wasn't the case on the floor, just to be clear. There was very little discussion about that. We spoke about it on several occasions in the context of what the Competition Committee was looking to propose, how it was implemented, and how our officials adjust to the game, as well as the players, adjust to those rules. I think there was a very strong view from the Competition Committee, and all of us. I believe the ownership will listen. They always want consistency in officiating. But, you are going to have calls that are not always going to be clear. We are going to have multiple angles and slow motion and those are things that get debated. But, the focus of trying to protect defenseless players, which includes quarterbacks, is something that is very important. There is a strong commitment to do that. We have to make sure our officials see the entire play. We want to make sure that the defensive players are implementing techniques that we've identified in a way to try to move to the side, try to brace yourself so that you are not putting the quarterbacks in harms way. Those are the things that we've focused on and I think we made a great adjustment. I think we are seeing the impact. We have had a lot of discussion, as you know. But I don't think it has been the fan focus. They are focusing on football and focusing on the great play and the great play of the quarterbacks. I think fans want to see the quarterbacks play. But we all want to protect our players. The safety of the game is better, the quality of the game is better, and I think that is how we see these issues.
On ratings being higher that before:
RG: It's deeper than just ratings. The media world is changing dramatically. The way fans engage and view the game is not simply watching on television anymore, obviously. And we see that ratings identify that, they do it sit in front of the television, at least to watch NFL football. We are one of the few, if any, content that is actually growing an audience. So yes, that is obviously encouraging. But, it is much broader than that. It is how do we use these other platforms to engage our fans to allow them to experience NFL football. They are watching on their tablets, they are watching on their phones. This year for the first time, with Verizon and Yahoo, we offered the NFL app across carriers. The Verizon subscriber and AT&T, or Sprint or T-Mobile, on any carrier, you can get any NFL game on your phone. That is an extraordinary service. The ability for our fans to get NFL football at any point, on any device. So, we keep looking deeper at that. I also believe that the quality of the games obviously is a big driver to all of this. The quality of the stars. I think we see so many players playing at high levels, and teams playing at an incredibly high level and the competitiveness of our league. All of those things are contributing factors. Last year we made the point that there is no one single factor, there are multiple factors. We don't dismiss any of them, we look at all of them and see what we can do to improve them.
On high scoring games, the more points the better or do we need to bring some defense back?
RG: There have also been some defensive games that were low scoring where we saw the defenses play well. But, you always have ebbs and flows and the kind of adjustments that go on throughout the league. That is constant. I think there is no question that fans like to see great play at the highest level, but they also love to see defense. We look at the overall competitiveness of the league. When you see points go up as much as they have gone up to historic levels, to still see the competitiveness of the game and the margin of victory, - I think it is has only happened three or four times in our history of close to 100 years that we have had such a low margin of victory. That's extraordinary. That type of scoring and quality of play is exciting.
On the progress the league has made regarding social justice initiatives and the impact that has had on your relationship with the NFLPA and the players:
RG: Well, as I said earlier, the focus has been on Listen and Learn, understanding what the players want to accomplish in their community, the impact they want to have and supporting them. Our clubs have done that on historic levels and I'm proud of what our clubs are doing. I'm proud of what our players are doing. We are all trying to work together to address those issue. That always helps make relationships more productive when there is respect and dialogue and understanding and an agreement to work together and try to make things better.
When you have people working together and listening to one another and that level of respect, I think everyone feels better and that's important. But, the key thing is that there is a lot of work to be done. Obviously, we talked a lot about what's going on on the field and how successful that has been, and I think we are also having similar success off the field. We are trying to help players and our clubs address the issues in the communities that they are concerned about.
On the cross-ownership vote:
RG: It is something that has been debated in this league, I've spent 38 years in this business, and I think it has been debated throughout those 38 years. And the ownership policies, on a consistent basis, are debated to make sure that we are doing everything possible to attract the best ownership into the league and also to maintain the quality of the ownership. But we also want to continue to do that and dynamics are changing. There are owners that are owning franchises across multiple leagues and that is happening more frequently, and I think the ownership looked at this and said that we don't see a competitive disadvantage as a league to having cross-ownership and we should open this up and allow others to come in and if they have experience in other leagues, that could be an advantage.
On the future of the Seahawks:
RG: We didn't have any discussion about it. We think it is inappropriate at this point in time to be having those kinds of discussions. The Seahawks have made plans. Paul Allen had made plans. At the appropriate time, those plans will be discussed.
On an update as to where the Oakland Raiders will play in 2019:
RG: No, there isn't. As you know, they are negotiating. We didn't get an update on that. We did get an update on the Las Vegas stadium from the Raiders, and the Rams and Chargers in Los Angeles. We did not have any discussion on that, but we know they are negotiating and we hope that will get resolved soon.

MORE EXCITEMENT LIES AHEAD AS NFL ENTERS WEEK 7

The NFL heads into Week 7 following another exciting weekend of action. In Week 6, nine of 15 games were decided by one score (eight points or fewer), including three games – the MIAMI DOLPHINS’ overtime win against Chicago, the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS’ win against Kansas City on Sunday Night Football and the GREEN BAY PACKERS’ victory over San Francisco on Monday Night Football – on game-winning field goals as time expired in the fourth quarter or overtime. Twelve contests this season have been won on the final play of the game, tied for the third-most through the first six weeks of a season since 2003.

Through the first six weeks of the season, 54 games have been decided by one score, tied with the 1999 season for the most in NFL history through Week 6. Twenty-eight of those games have been decided by three or fewer points, the second-most in NFL history through Week 6 (35 games in 1999), including four such games last week.

At least one game has gone to overtime in each of the first six weeks of the 2018 season, marking the first time since the regular-season overtime rule was instituted in 1974 that there has been an overtime game in each of a season’s first six weeks.

As the season approaches the halfway point, there are currently 21 teams with a .500 or better record. The LOS ANGELES RAMS (6-0) top the NFC and are the NFL’s only remaining unbeaten team, while the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (5-1) own the AFC’s best mark. Twenty-one teams are currently in or within one game of first place in their respective divisions.

Scoring continues to trend at a record pace in 2018. Through Week 6, there have been 504 total touchdowns and 4,489 total points scored, both the most in NFL history through the first six weeks of a season.

The second of three 2018 London Series games kicks off at 9:30 AM ET (CBS) at Wembley Stadium on Sunday as the LOS ANGELES CHARGERS play host to the TENNESSEE TITANS. Tennessee is making its first appearance in London, while the Chargers play in the UK for the second time. Los Angeles running back MELVIN GORDON leads the AFC with 745 scrimmage yards and ranks second in the NFL with nine touchdowns (six rushing, three receiving). Titans safety KEVIN BYARD, who had an interception in Week 6, has nine interceptions since 2017, tied with Detroit’s DARIUS SLAY for the most in the league over the span. The 2018 London Series concludes in Week 8 with the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES taking on the JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS.

The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, who sit at 4-2 and are tied with Miami atop the AFC East, visit the CHICAGO BEARS, who lead the NFC North with a 3-2 record, at Soldier Field on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS). Patriots quarterback TOM BRADY passed for 340 yards with one touchdown and rushed for a touchdown in New England’s 43-40 victory last week, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to record 200 regular-season wins. The 117th meeting between the WASHINGTON REDSKINS and DALLAS COWBOYS (including the postseason) takes place at FedExField (4:25 PM ET, CBS), as both teams look to win consecutive games for the first time this season. Washington (3-2) enters Week 7 in first place in the NFC East. Redskins running back ADRIAN PETERSON, who leads the team with 339 rushing yards, aims for his fourth consecutive game against Dallas with a rushing score. Cowboys quarterback DAK PRESCOTT threw two touchdown passes and rushed for a touchdown in Dallas’ win last week and has nine career games with both a passing and rushing touchdown, tied for the fourth-most in league history by a player in his first three seasons.

In Sunday’s nightcap (8:20 PM ET, NBC), the CINCINNATI BENGALS travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS in a battle of AFC contenders. Since entering the league in 2011, Bengals wide receiver A.J. GREEN ranks third in the NFL with 8,707 receiving yards and fifth with 589 receptions. Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES, who leads the NFL with 18 touchdown passes, has won six of his first seven career starts and is the only quarterback in league history to throw for at least 250 yards in each of his first seven games.
