A'ja Wilson leads USA to 10th Olympic Gold Medal

PARIS (France) - USA continued their dominance over the world by becoming champions for the 10th time after defeating France  in the Gold Medal Game of the .

USA had to launch a comeback from down by as many as 10 points and maintain their composure in the clutch to extend their impressive win streak at the Olympic Games to 61 games. It is also their eighth consecutive gold medal.

A'ja Wilson was dominant from start to finish, recording 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks, leading all players in each category. Kahleah Cooper also added clutch baskets down the stretch, totaling for 12 points for USA.

France can take pride in their effort towards winning their second silver medal, pushing USA to the brink. Gabby Williams finished the game with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals while coming short of forcing the game into overtime.

Wilson was joined on the All-Star Five by USA teammate Breanna Stewart, Gabby Williams of France, Alanna Smith of Australia and Belgium's Emma Meesseman.

A stunning 30 points from Ezi Magbegor carried Australia past Belgium  in a thrilling Bronze Medal Game. The Opals won their first medal since London 2012 where they also took bronze, while this was double heartache for Belgium in the wake of their Semi-Finals overtime loss to France.

PARIS (France) - It was a double celebration for A'ja Wilson after the USA forward added to the second Olympic gold medal of her career by taking MVP honors at the .

Wilson showed why she is one of the biggest stars in the global game with another exceptional campaign. She was a dominant force in the Final, putting up 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks in the Gold Medal Game.

Throughout the competition, she averaged 18.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 59.2 percent from the floor. That contributed to an amazing 25.7 performance efficiency valuation.
Breanna Stewart joined her USA colleague in the All-Star Five having also been on fire throughout USA's latest golden campaign. The forward was unstoppable at times en-route to the Final and eventually averaged a 20.3 performance valuation, 16.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 blocks per outing while shooting 56.7 percent.

Gabby Williams was the inspiration behind France and their run to a dream Final on home soil. The forward added to her silver medal with the Best Defensive Player award and an All-Star Five berth after harvesting 18.8 in efficiency, 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

Alanna Smith helped Australia collect the bronze medal and posted her best-ever campaign in an Opals' jersey with some super displays. This eventually produced 15.8 efficiency, 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per outing.

Emma Meesseman was a tour de force as usual for Belgium as they attained their best-ever finish at the Games with fourth place. The forward averaged some incredible numbers with an efficiency of 28.5 from 23.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.
