El sábado 16 de enero los Packers derrotaron 32-18 a los Rams para pasar al Championship Game del NFC. Aaron Rodgers lanzó 2 TD y corrió para uno adicional. Mason Crosby se fue 2-2 en field goals y Aaron Jones aportó un TD. Jared Goff lanzó un TD en la derrota y Cam Akers aportó un rush TD. Los Bills pasaron al Championship Game del AFC al vencer 17-3 a los Ravens. Los Bills ganaron 14-0 el 3er parcial con una intensa defensa y efectiva ofensiva. La defensa produjo 66 tacles, 4 sacks, una intercepción y un TD de 101 yardas en las piernas de Taron Johnson. Que clase de Pick-6! Josh Allen lanzó un TD a las seguras manos de Stefon Diggs. La ofensiva en la 1era mitad fue un intercambio de field goals entre Tyler Bass y Justin Tucker. Lamar Jackson, QB de los Ravens, no pudo terminar el juego luego de entrar en el protocolo de concussion al recibir un fuerte golpe en la cabeza al caer al suelo. 

El domingo 17 de enero los Buccaneers pasaron al Championship Game del NFC al vencer 30-20 a los Saints en otra batalla de la guerra entre los amigos Tom Brady y Drew Brees. Tom Brady tomó el reto con furor al lanzar 2 TD y añadir uno corriendo. Tampa Bay dominó 127-104 las yardas rushing. Ryan Succop se fue de 3-3 en field goals y aportó 12 puntos al triunfo. Drew Brees, quién aun no sabe si se retirará luego de la derrota, lanzó un TD y le interceptaron 3 pases. Jameis Winston lo reemplazó en un momento dado y lanzó un TD. Wil Lutz se fue de 2-2 en field goals y aportó 8 puntos. El juego fue uno cerrado que al finalizar el 3er parcial terminó 20-20. Field Goal de Succop y rush TD de Brady en el 4to parcial le dieron la victoria a Tampa Bay. Brady alcanza por vez #14 jugar en un Conference Game. Los Chiefs sobrevivieron 22-17 a los Browns para pasar el Championship Game del AFC. Patrick Mahomes lanzó y corrió para un total de dos TD antes de salir del juego al entrar en el protocolo de concussion. Mahomes recibió un golpe que no pareció muy fuerte, pero al tratar de levantarse se le vio tambaleante. Mahomes no regresó a juego para terminar el mismo y fue reemplazado por Chad Henne, quién realizó un excelente trabajo manteniendo la ventaja ante el intento de rally que los Browns armaron. La ofensiva de los Browns fue un TD lanzador de Baker Mayfield, un rush TD de Kareen Hunt y un field goal de Cody Parkey. Cleveland ganó la 2da mitad 14-3 y sin duda serán un equipo peligroso en los próximos años. Harrison Butler aportó 10 puntos y se fue de 4-3 en field goals por los Chiefs.

El próximo domingo se decide cuales serán los equipos que pasen al Super Bowl. En el AFC Buffalo se medirá a los Chiefs. Si Mahomes juega los Chiefs deben derrotar a los Bills en un juego cerrado. Allen debe ser el MVP de la temporada, pero los Chiefs tienen más “fire power” que los Bills. El prónostico de Mr. Clutch es Chiefs. En el NFC los Buccaneers se miden a Green Bay. Rodgers vs Brady. Este será un jugado de los seguros Hall of Famers. Cerrado, con los Packers saliendo airosos. Prónostico de Mr. Clutch es los Packers sobre Brady y sus Buccaneers.

Brady has the most postseason games played (43), wins (32), passing yards (11,968) and passing touchdowns (77) of any player in NFL history. Buccaneers wide receiver MIKE EVANS, who caught a touchdown pass in the team’s Divisional playoff win last week, had 1,006 receiving yards in 2020 to become the first player in NFL history with at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first seven seasons. Tampa Bay cornerback SEAN MURPHY-BUNTING, whose second-quarter interception and 36-yard return set up a go-ahead touchdown in the team’s Divisional playoff win, now has interceptions in each of the Buccaneers’ two playoff wins this season. The last player with interceptions in three consecutive playoff games in the same postseason was the Giants’ R.W. MCQUARTERS (three consecutive games) during the 2007 playoffs. In the Buccaneers’ Divisional playoff win, linebacker DEVIN WHITE had 11 tackles, a 28-yard interception return and an 18-yard fumble return in his first NFL playoff game. White was the team’s first-round selection (fifth overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Buccaneers had one player selected to the 2021 Pro Bowl roster: Linebacker JASON PIERRE-PAUL. Green Bay has advanced to a second straight Championship Game for the first time since the 1996-97 seasons. Since the league merger in 1970, the Packers are hosting their third Championship. Lambeau Field also hosted the 1996 and 2007 NFC Championship Games. Overall, Green Bay has played in the NFC Championship on 10 prior occasions. Packers head coach MATT LAFLEUR is the sixth individual since the league merger in 1970 to reach the conference Championship Game in each of his first two seasons as an NFL head coach, joining DON MCCAFFERTY (Baltimore Colts, 1970-71), GEORGE SEIFERT (San Francisco, 1989-90), BARRY SWITZER (Dallas, 1994-95), REX RYAN (New York Jets, 2009-10) and JIM HARBAUGH (San Francisco, 2011-12). The Packers defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 32-18, last week in the Divisional playoffs. With the victory, Green Bay registered the 36th postseason victory in franchise annals, tying the Pittsburgh Steelers (36) for the second-most postseason wins in history. With a win this week, Green Bay will tie the NFL record held by the New England Patriots (37). Green Bay quarterback AARON RODGERS passed for 296 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions for a 108.1 passer rating in the Divisional round, marking his eighth consecutive postseason game with multiple touchdown passes, tying the NFL record held by JOE FLACCO (eight games from 2011-14). Rodgers (12 career postseason games) is one of four players in history with at least 10 postseason games of 250-or-more passing yards and two-or-more touchdown passes. The others are TOM BRADY (17), Pro Football Hall of Famer JOE MONTANA (12) and DREW BREES (10). Rodgers is expected to make his fifth career start in a Championship Game, but his first at home. The only other time in franchise history that two players reached 100 receiving yards in a postseason game was Dec. 25, 1971, when ED PODOLAK and ELMO WRIGHT did it in a Divisional playoff loss against Miami. Hill ranked second in the NFL this season with 15 receiving touchdowns. Kelce finished second among all players with 1,416 receiving yards this season, the most single-season receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history. Kelce, who had 103 receptions in 2018, also had 105 receptions this season to become the first tight end in NFL history with at least 100 receptions in multiple seasons. The donation will assist Feeding Tampa Bay in their efforts to support local restaurants that have been significantly affected by COVID-19. In addition, the NFL and Feeding Tampa Bay will launch a volunteer sweepstakes to encourage local residents to sign up to volunteer with FTB to help fight hunger within their community. "Each year we look for meaningful ways to give back to our Super Bowl host city," said Anna Isaacson, SVP of Social Responsibility, NFL. "The past year has been unlike any other and we want to assist those who have been greatly impacted by the ongoing pandemic. We are hopeful that we will be able to help the restaurant industry and those facing food insecurity in the Tampa Bay area through the 'Huddle to Tackle Hunger' and that our efforts will leave a lasting impact on the community long after Super Bowl Sunday."   Many local restaurants continue to suffer a tremendous hardship from the impact of COVID-19.  The NFL Foundation's $250,000 donation will help to provide financial support (through Feeding Tampa Bay) to the dining establishments, and in turn they can continue to generate revenue, employ their workers, and provide meals to those in need. The restaurants selected to participate in 'Huddle to Tackle Hunger' were recommended by the NFL's  Super Bowl LV Business Connect program, which works proactively to create opportunities for experienced, diverse, and certified local small business owners to compete for contract opportunities related to NFL signature events such as Super Bowl. The donation will help to expand FTB's current food distribution program expanding the number of meals available, participating restaurants and delivery timeframes. In conjunction with the donation, the NFL also launched a volunteer-based sweepstakes for the opportunity to attend Super Bowl LV on Feb. 7. The sweepstakes will run through Wednesday, Feb. 3 and is open only to those in the Tampa Bay area. During this timeframe, volunteers can sign up to volunteer with Feeding Tampa Bay, filling a critical need for help to safely continue feeding the community. Volunteer needs range from food packing and sorting to distribution in their Trinity Cafes and remote locations around the Tampa Bay area. Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 follow the joint NFL-NFLPA Treatment Protocol. They are immediately isolated, not permitted to access club facilities, or to have direct contact with players or personnel. Club medical staff are in regular communication with individuals who test positive to monitor symptoms. Monitoring Testing results for January 10– January 16: 9,873 tests were administered to a total of 1,606 players and team personnel. 3,888 tests were administered to 590 players; 5,985 tests were administered to 1,016 personnel. There were 3 new confirmed positive tests among players and 6 new confirmed positives among other personnel.  Total test results for the entire Monitoring Testing period to-date, Aug 1 – Jan 16: During Monitoring Testing from Aug 1 – Jan 16, 262 players and 460 other personnel were confirmed positive cases.
