NFL Network Special Airing Sunday at 4:00 PM ET Goes Inside the Epic Super Bowl Commercial Shoot that Celebrates 100 Years of Football with Never-Before-Seen Interviews and Outtakes
Prior to the New England Patriots' winning their historic sixth Super Bowl title, football fans witnessed another milestone moment with the premiere of the NFL's Super Bowl commercial entitled " The 100-Year Game." The two minute ad, which kicked off the celebration of the NFL's 100 th season garnered the No. 1 spot in USA Today's Ad Meterwith the publication describing it as "a tour de force starring an assemblage of many of the greats of NFL history."
The story behind that historic multi-day production shoot will debut in a special exclusive show, entitled Making of the 100-Year Game Sunday, March 3 at 4:00 PM ET on NFL Network.
Directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor) and developed by the NFL in partnership with creative agency 72andSunny Los Angeles, the concept of the 100-Year Game centered around legendary NFL figures gathering for a celebration of the league's 100th season when chaos ensues. The half-hour special gives an inside look at the production that brought 44 past and present players, plus Commissioner Roger Goodell and other notable names together for an incredible shoot that crisscrossed the United States from Los Angeles, to Boston, to Orlando, to New Orleans.
"As an avid football fan, this was an incredible project to be a part of," said Berg. "We had a lot of personality spanning 100 years of the NFL in one room, and there were so many moments beyond what was captured in the two-minute spot that fans will get a kick out of."
In addition to exclusive behind the scenes shots and outtakes from the filming of the spot,Making of the 100-Year Game also features interviews with Berg, stunt coordinator Jeff Dashnaw, NFL Senior Vice President of Global Brand and Consumer Marketing Julie Haddon, and NFL Hall of Famers Franco Harris and LaDainian Tomlinson who appeared in the spot.
"We wanted to create a commercial spot that would unite fans of all generations" said Haddon. "To kick off the 100th season of the NFL, we thought it was only fitting to celebrate so many of our former and current superstars from yesterday and today with a campaign like this. We are excited about sharing with fans some of the most entertaining, touching and behind the scenes magic moments from the shoot."
Following its premiere on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, The 100-Year Game has been viewed more than 100 million times across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube on League, Club, Player, Influencer and Media accounts.

15th Annual 'Run Rich Run' to Benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® |
Fans encouraged to join NFL Network and NFL PLAY 60 in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by sharing a video of their best '40-Yard Dash'
NFL Network and DIRECTV AUDIENCE Network personality Rich Eisen will once again cap off the week in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine, Presented by Verizon with his signature 40-yard dash for the "Run Rich Run" charitable campaign in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Since 2004, Eisen's dashing display of athletic prowess in a suit, tie and Under Armour cleats has served as a fitting conclusion to the annual event that gives viewers a look at the next generation of NFL talent alongside team personnel. "Run Rich Run" has been embraced by NFL fans, players and team personnel, providing a charitable opportunity to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding Cures. Saving Children®.
This year's campaign is already off to a blazing start following Eisen's kick off race with eight-time Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record holder Usain Bolt during Super Bowl week in Atlanta. Despite coming up a bit short against the 11-time World Champion, the competition sparked a personal best 5.89 finish from Eisen, which he'll look to replicate this year in Indy.
NFL Network through 'Run Rich Run' will benefit the NFL PLAY 60 relationship with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Since 2012, NFL PLAY 60 has been the 'Official Champion of Play' at St. Jude, helping to give all kids the chance to play.
"It's an honor to run on behalf of St Jude," said Eisen. "Other than running faster, I can only hope that we keep raising as much money for these kids and their loving families as possible. So, everyone should please donate. And I'll do the rest."
NFL Network and the NFL Foundation have combined for a donation of $75,000 to the cause. Fans can show their support, while demonstrating their own athleticism by submitting videos of themselves running the 40-yard dash. Along with their submissions, fans are encouraged to donate money to help support the lifesaving mission and ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
"We will all be rooting for the NFL and Rich Eisen, our long-time supporters, as they join forces to bring awareness to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through this one-of-a kind celebration of athleticism and philanthropy," said Richard Shadyac, Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Fans around the world are in for a treat as Rich leverages his athletic prowess to showcase the importance of the St. Jude mission and are encouraged to join him in running and raising funds. This kind of support is instrumental in ensuring that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live."
Courtyard by Marriott, Under Armour, AT&T and Wrangler have also generously pledged donations to help support play therapy at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As the Official Champion of Play at St. Jude, NFL PLAY 60 has pledged to support the needs of its Child Life program, which helps children cope with the stress of their illness through therapeutic play and other activities, promoting development, self-expression and peer interaction among other benefits. Child Life is an integral part of the medical team at St. Jude and is visible in every clinical arena from patient care to program development.
Eisen's 40-yard dash will air within NFL Network's final day of coverage from the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, Presented by Verizon on Monday, March 4.
Fans can submit their own 40-yard dash videos via Twitter, Instagram and YouTube using the following hashtags: #RunRichRun #StJude #PLAY60.

NFL ANNOUNCES 32 COMPENSATORY DRAFT CHOICES TO 15 CLUBS |
NFL ANNOUNCES 32 COMPENSATORY DRAFT CHOICES TO 15 CLUBS
A total of 32 compensatory choices in the 2019 NFL Draft have been awarded to 15 teams, the NFL announced today.
Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents(“CFA”) than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.
The compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.
Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The formula was developed by the NFL Management Council. Not every free agent lost or signed by a club is covered by this formula. No club may receive more than four compensatory picks in any one year. If a club qualifies for more than four compensatory picks after offsetting each CFA lost by each CFA gained of an equal or higher value, the four highest remaining selections will be awarded to the club.
The Collective Bargaining Agreement limits the number of compensatory selections to the number of clubs then in the League (32). This year, six clubs: the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Indianapolis Colts, the Los Angeles Rams, the New York Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers qualified for compensatory selections under the net loss formula but will not receive those picks because the final numerical values of the CFAs who were lost by those clubs ranked 33rd through 39th among the final numerical values of all compensatory selections. Each of those six clubs will receive compensatory selections for other CFAs lost whose final numerical values ranked within the top 32.
The following 2019 compensatory draft picks have been determined by the NFL Management Council for the 2019 NFL Draft, which will be held on April 25-27 in Nashville:

National Football League Named Title Sponsor of 2019 HBCU Battle of the Brains
"The commitment of the NFL illustrates its shared belief in the product of our HBCU institutions." ---Gregory Gibson, Jr. Founder & Executive Director, HBCU Battle of the Brains.
Austin, TX, February 20, 2019 – The third annual Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Battle of the Brains is set to take place Thursday, March 7, 2019 through Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Austin, TX, during South by Southwest (SXSW) – and this year's title sponsor is a game changer.
"It is with great excitement that we announce that the National Football League (NFL) is the title sponsor for this year's event," says Gregory Gibson, Jr., Founder and Executive Director, HBCU Battle of the Brains.
With a hashtag of #ChangingtheGame, this year's HBCU Battle of the Brains will once again pit teams of the best and brightest STEM and Business students from HBCUs across the country against each other as they compete for more than $50,000 in scholarship money. Each team will have 24 hours to develop a solution to a presented business challenge, and pitch live in front of a SXSW audience. They will be judged on analysis, business/technology solution, presentation, and Q&A, with crowd participation constituting one of the final votes.
"The NFL is honored and excited to return as a sponsor of the HBCU Battle of the Brains event," said David Jurenka, NFL Senior Vice President of Digital Media. "We saw firsthand last year how this event shines a light on the incredibly gifted young minds that will undoubtedly have an impact on the future of various industries, including ours. The creativity and enthusiasm surrounding this event is truly inspiring, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to engage and interact with these students."
More than 15 NFL executives and staff across its league and media offices will be on hand during the four-day event, providing guidance and support for participants in a variety of roles including featured speakers, team mentors and competition judges.
Hosted by HBCU Battle of the Brains, LLC, the competition is designed to support the HBCU mission of promoting the talented business and STEM students within the African American community while highlighting the benefits of SXSW, as well as the technology industry, in an engaging and dynamic way.
"Showcasing the immensely talented students that populate our nation's HBCUs has been a central focus of the HBCU Battle of the Brains," says Gibson. "The commitment of the NFL illustrates its shared belief in the product of our HBCU institutions."
